Every gamer has his own genre of game that he likes the best, whether it be shooters or adventure or anything else. I have taken it upon myself to compile an unbiased list of the top 10 games of the year, putting aside my love for shooters aside.

10. NBA 2k14

I know what you’re thinking, a sports game made the list, but actually this is a very good game. The NBA 2k series has found much success in the past but this year they really outdid themselves. What I particularly love about this game is that anyone can play, even if you are like me and you’re completely inept at sports games. Graphics are alright and music could be better, but any game where you can have Wilt Chamberlain going up against Hakeem Olajuwon is a good game in my mind.

9. Rayman Adventures

Over 100 levels that are all so much fun to play, gameplay that is just plain enjoyable and a storyline that is challenging yet fun. For those of you who used to play the Rayman games, this is a trip down memory lane and it is just a beautiful thing to watch. Fun family game through and through.

8.  Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon

This shooter is definitely a lot of fun and it will get you hooked on the storyline like that. This game is so reminiscent of the 80’s and will actually make you laugh at how old the music is and the really lame cutscenes. I have to say though, it is a great game.

7. Pokemon X and Y

This game lived up to it’s expectations, it was really good. I do have one problem with this game and it is that the movement can be annoying at times but if you like Pokemon, then this is for you. For the first time in so long, the new Pokemon in this game are wonderfully creative! I played this game for 29 hours and I am still not bored, that’s how good it is.

6. Bioshock Infinite

Oh no Henry why is it 6th?!?!? Well for one thing, it is a true testament to the 0ther games in this list and also I think that Bioshock 2 was better than this. Besides that though this was still very enjoyable and can get you hooked for a long time.

5. The Last of Us

This game gave me so much anxiety, I got so hooked on this game that I actually had to stop myself from playing it. I got so sad whenever they killed off someone and so happy whenever I completed a goal, my moods could literally change minute by minute. You will love and hate this game at the same time, but mostly love because it’s just awesome.

4. Battlefield 4

Battlefield really stepped it up this time, the storyline was compelling and the multiplayer was genius as always. This is behind Call of Duty only because Call of Duty had a better multiplayer, no question and the gun selection is also a tad better.

3. GTA V

This game was pretty awesome, and was also very GTA if you know what I mean. It is just complete lawlessness which is totally fun (only in the game) and completely compelling. I for one enjoy being a gang member (virtually) and living their story.

2. Call of Duty: Ghosts

Gun selection, graphics, storyline, multiplayer, all beautiful individually but as a unit they make one hell of a game. This is so much better than Modern Warfare 3 in terms of everything, this reminded me of the good old days with Call of Duty and that is why this is number 2.

1. Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag

After watching a little too much of Pirate’s of the Carribean, I decided to start playing Assassin’s Creed and I have come to a conclusion that if Jack Sparrow were to fight against Edward Kenway, Jack Sparrow would lose miserably. That said, this is such a great game that all I can tell you is BUY IT.
