I still don’t understand. I thought the NFL would be consistent. I was wrong. Four takeaways, 9 weeks, let’s go.

CJ Stroud is an MVP Candidate

CJ Stroud may be a lock for offensive rookie of the year, but I think he has a chance at actually winning the MVP award and becoming the first rookie QB to do so. Look at his stats. 2,270 yards and 14 touchdowns to only 1 interception. Those are great numbers. Now, look at his competition. Patrick Mahomes has 2,442 yards 17 touchdowns and 8 interceptions. CJ Stroud is a rookie, but he makes Mahomes’s numbers look like rookie numbers. Tua Tagovailoa has 2,609 yards 19 touchdowns and 7 interceptions. However, Tua and Mahomes both have more passing yards and passing touchdowns. However, in 2020-21, Tom Brady led the league in passing yards and passing touchdowns, and Aaron Rodgers still won the MVP because of his amazing Touchdown-Interception ratio of 37 to 4. So, the MVP voters value ball security and since Tua and Mahomes are both on track to 13 and 15 interceptions, respectively, that leaves CJ Stroud a huge opportunity to make history and win the MVP award as a rookie QB.

The Cowboys should be PROUD

After a loss, it’s very rare to be happy and encouraged. However, the Cowboys outplayed the Eagles. This is a game where the stats do not agree with the outcome. Dak outplayed Jalen, CeeDee Lamb outplayed AJ brown, Our defense outplayed there defense (in total yards allowed), and our offense outplayed there offense as well. It just came down to the play caller, Mike McCarthy. I’m sick and tired of this guy, all Cowboys fans should be. I’m sick and tired of the first down runs up the middle for 1-2 yards, I’m sick and tired of the amount of times Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb have to bail his sorry face out of situations that HE GETS HIMSELF INTO. Last year, he fired Kellen Moore because he felt his job was in danger. However, it feels like he was maybe the problem and now all eyes are on him. Other than that, the Cowboys held the Eagles and their “Tush Push” play to only 292 yards and 28 points. Now, if you look at the box score, it might look like the penalties were pretty fair. That was not the case. A pass-interference call on a ball 8 yards out of bounds? A picked-up hands to the face call that was right in front of their faces. Anyway, the Cowboys showed that they can compete with good teams. So be proud, Cowboys.

The Bengals are Back/The Bills are bad

After a 0-2 start, and then a 1-3 start, the Bengals looked bad on offense. Then, they came back with wins over the Seahawks, Cardinals, Niners, and then Bills. Sitting at 5-3, they have recovered from their questionable start and are now contenders in the AFC. JOe Burrow has been cooking with Ja’Marr Chase, and their defense has stepped up in big moments. As for their main competition in the AFC, Chiefs, Ravens, Jaguars, and NOT THE BUFFALO BILLS. The Bills are bad. Barely beat the Giants, lost to the Jaguars, lost to the Patriots, lost to the Bengals. They are BAD. Expect them to miss the playoffs. And, their Super Bowl window has closed. They may have looked like a premier contender last year and the year before and the year before but the fact it, they are no longer contenders, until they prove me wrong.

The Dolphins CANNOT Beat Good Teams

I want you to take a guess. When was the last time the Dolphins beat a team with a winning record. Think about it. Okay, lock in your answer. If you said September 25th, 2022, you’d be correct. Yes, 2022. That’s a year ago. The Dolphins are not contenders, and cannot beat top contenders. If people say the same thing about the Cowboys, they should keep that same energy when they talk about the Dolphins. The Dolphins are still living off their 70-point game against the Broncos. However no one wants to talk about the fact that they only scored 14 against the Chiefs. And the Dolphins hype. End it until they beat a team with a winning record, cool? Yeah, okay.

Everyone can celebrate football, except Dolphins fans (I always knew you were frauds). So there you have it. Five takeaways from the ninth week of the NFL season. How will these hold up during the season? I have no clue. But I guess we’ll find out. And yes, this conclusion is copied and pasted from my NFL Week 1 Overreactions: Being Way Too Conclusive article.
