Bold Predictions for Every NFL Team in 2026 (Vol. 2)

-

Everybody loves a circular ending. And after three years of writing for the Jesuit Roundup (starting from Freshman year), it’s about time I revisit (as a Senior) the article that started everything for my sportswriting. The Bold Predictions For Every NFL Team article, released on September 6th, 2023 was a 5,000 word beast of an article that was not only filled to the brim with incorrect predictions, but was also stacked with outlandish sports opinions that would make Stephen A. Smith turn his head in shame. In total, I went nine for thirty-two in my last predictions article. So recently I decided I needed a little bit of redemption this NFL season, so I’m back at it.

Arizona Cardinals

A Cardinal’s Quarterback Has A Winning Record As A Starter

Let’s make it clear that I view the Arizona Cardinals as one of the worst teams in the league. However, I do think there is reason to believe that if the coaching staff puts in Carson Beck with three or four games to go in the year, he can win a good percentage of those games. The Cardinals final four games are the New York Jets, New Orleans Saints, Las Vegas Raiders, and San Fransisco 49ers. They are just on par with the Jets and Raiders, and even though I personally think the Saints will be good, they still could end up having a disastrous season. It’s not unheard of for teams to put in rookie or younger quarterbacks and receive a temporary boost in play. I think the Cardinals might get desperate enough to do just that.

Atlanta Falcons

Bijan Robinson Finishes Top Three In MVP Voting

Bijan Robinson is a generational player. I liked him ever since he was at Texas, and I’ve casually rooted for him in every NFL season since he was drafted. This year is the year I think he will truly break through as the game changing player that guys like Christian McCaffrey and Saquon Barkley have proven to be. He accounted for just under 2,300 all-purpose yards on a struggling Atlanta Falcons. If the Falcons can manage a playoff spot and he bumps it up to 2,500 yards or scores more touchdowns, I can see him being at the top of many MVP ballots. My only concern is that a new quarterback could mean less usage for Bijan if Tua proves to be better. Overall, I think Bijan can do it, so that’s my prediction.

Baltimore Ravens

Trey Hendrickson Has A Career High In Sacks

If I were Trey Hendrickson, I’d feel disrespected. After an injury-prone year, and a rough contract negotiation with my longtime team, I finally find a new home in Baltimore, just for some fans to be very disappointed because they lost out on Maxx Crosby. Trey Hendrickson is barely worse, if not just as good, as Maxx Crosby. He should be extra motivated to prove just that. His personal record for sacks in a season is 17.5, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he is so motivated that he beats that and crosses the 20 sack threshold. The Ravens are a team that I don’t really have a huge opinion about when it comes to overall success, but I’m rooting for Trey to prove the doubters wrong, and be a better version of the guy the Ravens thought they missed out on.

Buffalo Bills

Buffalo Has A Gap Year, Unexpectedly Missing The Playoffs

Courtesy photo from buffalobills.com

In my freshman year, I made essentially the same prediction for the Buffalo Bills (that they would miss the playoffs). However, this year seems to have a bit more evidence than last. Their schedule is no cakewalk. Other than their own division, they play the NFC North (which had all winning record teams last year), the AFC West (which had two playoff teams last year, and still has a now healthy Chiefs), along with the Ravens, Rams, and Texans. They have a gauntlet. And while I like the addition of D.J. Moore overall, I don’t think he is a true wide receiver one, and I don’t think the Bills have a very promising wide receiver room. If the offense can’t produce at a high level, the defense likely won’t be able to compensate enough for them to make the playoffs.

Carolina Panthers

Plateau, Winning Just Eight Games Yet Again

I was a huge Carolina Panthers guy for the entirety of last season, and I even predicted for them to beat the Rams in the wild card game. Though that didn’t happen, I was encouraged by their potential heading into the offseason, but coming out of it, I don’t see them as that much improved. Nic Scourton tore his ACL in training camp, and they really seem to be banking on Bryce Young heavily improving. I like Tetairoa McMillan as much as the next guy, but is he really capable of helping lead a top offense along with Chuba Hubbard and Jalen Coker as the other skill position players? I don’t trust it enough, and while I think they’re capable of repeating what they did last year, winning eight games, I don’t see them improving the way Carolina fans expect them to.

Chicago Bears

Have First 4,000 Yard Passer In Franchise History

Caleb Williams throws a pass against the Washington Commanders on Oct 13, 2025. Photo Credit: sportingnews.com

It’s about time that this stupid stat goes away for good. The Chicago Bears have never had a 4,000 yard passer in a season in their entire long history. But this year, that ends. Caleb Williams finished just 58 yards short of that mark last season, and I see no reason why they shouldn’t be able to reach it this year. Caleb had less completions last season than he did his rookie year. If he increases his completion percentage, or merely increases his targets, he should be able to easily cross the mark of 4,000. The Bears really have come a long way since my freshman year. Three years this time, I predicted for Justin Fields and D.J. Moore to be unstoppable, and neither of those players are on the team anymore, with Fields having left a long time ago. But Chicago has the quarterback of their future, so good for them.

Cincinnati Bengals

Win The AFC North Handedly

The Bengals seem to be a make or break team, and this time I expect them to win their division. I also am fully prepared to be disappointed midway through the season when they’re 6-6 and fighting for a wild card spot, but as of now, they need to win this division. The Steelers and the Ravens are in no way unbeatable, and the Browns are the Browns. If the Bengals win 10 or 11 games, I can see them winning the division around the last week or two. But if they win 12 or more, they should have the division settled with time to spare. It’s about time that Ja’Marr Chase and Joe Burrow lead this team back to the playoffs. Their addition of Dexter Lawrence should negate the loss of Trey Hendrickson, and they should be able to keep Joe Burrow healthy enough to see themselves in the playoffs this year.

Cleveland Browns

Quinshon Judkins Breaks Out, Rushing For 1,200+ Yards

There doesn’t seem to be much for the Cleveland Browns to be excited about entering this year, but Quinshon Judkins is one of them. Judkisn started off last season looking like a legitimate starting running back, and although he had a rough ending stretch (along with his team), I believe he will return to form for a whole season this year. He didn’t fumble a single time last year, and had 7 touchdowns to go along with 827 yards. If his team trusts in him more (which they should, knowing that Deshaun Watson and Shedeur Sanders are their quarterback options) he should get enough usage to rush for over 1,200 yards. He also only played 14 games last season, so getting a full 17 should give him more than enough opportunity to show out. The former Ohio State back will get his chance to shine this year, and I see him doing exactly that.

Dallas Cowboys

Make The NFC Championship Game

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott (4) signals first down in overtime during a NFL football game against the New York Giants on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2025, in Arlington, Texas. (AP Photo/Matt Patterson)

I made this exact same prediction my freshman year when I wrote my very first sports article. I saw something in the Cowboys that I thought made them contenders. That dream of them making the NFC Championship Game fizzled away in week five after an embarrassing 42-10 loss to the 49ers. But there was hope. The Cowboys finished that season 12-5, and won the division as the 2nd seed. They also secured home field advantage until maybe the NFC Title game. The only problem is, they were bounced in the first round by the Packers. And on the risk of being just as wrong, if not more wrong this time, I am making the same prediction, because I see something in the Cowboys this year. And even if they are 7-8 entering the final stretch, I will stand by this prediction, because this team looks good enough. They look capable. And if they fail, they fail. But if they succeed, then I will reap the rewards of this prediction. Mark my words.

Denver Broncos

Sweep The AFC West, But Have A Losing Record Against The NFC

Broncos players celebrate after Will Lutz hits game-winning field goal. Photo Credit to: milehighsports.com

The Denver Broncos were a good team last year. They were 14-3, finishing atop the AFC standings as the number one seed. And while they faltered against the Patriots in the snowy AFC Championship Game, it was largely because of their quarterback Bo Nix’s season-ending injury in the wild card round. This year, I do expect them to take a step back, but I also think they will have a field day against their own division. The Broncos went 5-1 against the AFC West last year, losing just one early game against the Chargers. This year, I see them winning every divisional game they have. However, I don’t like their matchups in the NFC. Not for them, at least. They play the NFC West and the Carolina Panthers. The Rams, Seahawks, and 49ers all seem capable of beating the Broncos, and if they do, the best the Broncos can be is 2-3 against the NFC. So, while I’ll look for them to dominate their own division, I would caution them against a stacked gaunlet of NFC matchups.

Detroit Lions

Lead The League In Explosive Plays

Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs (0) celebrates a touchdown against Chicago Bears during first half at Ford Field in Detroit. Junfu Han, Detroit Free Press.

The Detroit Lions were a confusing team last year, winning just nine games after starting 5-2. The loss of outstanding offensive coordinator Ben Johnson was very clear from the start, but some things never change. This team still has one of the most explosive running backs in the game in Jahmyr Gibbs. They have the fastest wide receiver in the league in Jameson Williams. Sam LaPorta is returning, and while Ben Johnson being long gone did hurt them last year, it certainly won’t contain the explosiveness of this Lions offense. Expect many 20+ yard plays. Expect to be amazed by the offense. And while I’m not sure it will translate to a really good offense or really successful team, I still look at this Lions squad and see a really electric, explosive offense.

Green Bay Packers

Lose Their Matchup Against The Dallas Cowboys Despite Parsons’ Return

Green Bay Packers defensive end Micah Parsons (1) looks at Dallas Cowboys’ Dak Prescott (4) after the end of a play in the second half of an NFL football game Sunday, Sept. 28, 2025, in Arlington, Texas. (AP Photo/Julio Cortez)

There will be a trend in these predictions that tend to give the Dallas Cowboys a lot more credit than they have earned, and it may make me look like the stereotypical Cowboys fan that thinks they are winning the Super Bowl every year, but I’m okay with that. I’m really just embracing it at this point. I think Micah Parsons will return to play the Dallas Cowboys in Week 6, but I think the Cowboys will win regardless. The Cowboys had a terrible defense last year, and were missing CeeDee Lamb against the Packers, but still managed a 40-40 tie. While the game ending disappointed all of us, it is still remarkable that even with injuries to our skill position players, and a defense that couldn’t stop a parked car, we held our own. Expect that with a better defense and a presumably healthy offense the Cowboys will manage a win this time around.

Houston Texans

Lose Their First Four Games Of The Season

Most people view the Houston Texans as a contender entering the year, but I really don’t see it as much as others do. None of that matters, however, because I still think, contender or not, they will lose their first four games. They lost their first three games last season, and managed a 12-5 record regardless. But look at their opening schedule this year. The Buffalo Bills, Cincinnati Bengals, Indianapolis Colts, and Dallas Cowboys are their first four matchups. I don’t favor Houston in any of those games, and while I think it’s possible that they win some of them, I see them missing the mark and falling like dominos to each team. And I don’t think that means they won’t be a good team. Like I said earlier, they lost their first three last year, and went 12-2 the rest of the way. The Houston Texans are a weird team, and I think even after a weird start, they can pick it back up for an even weirder finish.

Indianapolis Colts

Keenan Allen Leads The Team In Receiving Touchdowns

Colts quarterback Daniel Jones continued his hot start to the season with another efficient outing. He finished 23-of-34 for 316 yards and a touchdown. 1010wcsi.com.

There are some teams that I just can’t think of anything for. The way I structured the writing of this article was to craft each bold prediction before doing any of the bulk writing. And when I stopped at the Indianapolis Colts and tried to think of a prediction, nothing came to mind. This team was too bland to think of anything. Not that they’re bad, or good, or anything. I just couldn’t think of something substantial to predict for them. So, I settled on their new pickup Keenan Allen, who I predict will lead the team in receiving touchdowns, mainly because I have a strong draw to wide receiver threes that are still perfectly capable. Keenan Allen is old, yes, but last year, he had a fine year. When it comes to wide receiver threes, he might top the list. Look for him to have plenty of red zone opportunities and score upwards of eight touchdowns this year.

Jacksonville Jaguars

Parker Washington Jr. Has A Better Fantasy Football Year Than Brian Thomas Jr.

I was one of many last season who were incredibly disappointed by Brian Thomas Jr. I picked him high in my fantasy draft, and he let me down. Parker Washington Jr, in fact, was one of the players I picked up to replace Brian when he was injured. Now, I see a scenario where Brian completely returns to the player he was his rookie year, and has a great year. In fact, as a huge LSU football fan, I hope that happens. But I’m predicting that his teammate, Parker, will have a better year. More yards, or more touchdowns, or more receptions, I don’t care. But fantasy football team owners that pick up Brian Thomas Jr. will be wishing they picked up Parker Washington Jr. instead. Also, it’s not lost on me how many times I had to type “Jr.” in this passage and how confusing the period rules are for “Jr.”

Kansas City Chiefs

This Is Harrison Butker’s Last Season On The Chiefs

Kickers have a cycle in the NFL. You join the league, and you either look like a really good undrafted signing, or just an okay guy. If you are really good, you’ll be with your team for years to come, until you eventually regress to becoming just “okay.” When you’re just “okay,” you move from team to team every season and wear absolutely absurd numbers like 43 or 29. Harrison Butker for the last five years, has been a really good kicker. This is the year I see him regressing to just “okay.” His inevitable regression, paired with his “really good” kicker contract, will ultimately force him out of the Chiefs and searching for a new home where he can wear a number in the low nineties or high seventies because kickers are allowed to do that for some reason. But don’t worry Chiefs, you’ll find a new guy from the USFL or late 7th round of next year’s draft.

Las Vegas Raiders

Cousins Starts, And Remains, At Quarterback For The Whole Season

A lot of people are anticipating Fernando Mendoza’s eventual emergence as the Raider’s new quarterback of the future, and many think it will happen this season. I, however, disagree. In fact, I see Kirk Cousins remaining the starter throughout the year. The Raiders, as frustrated as their fans might be at them, are still a capable sports organization. They paid Kirk Cousins 172 million dollars just two and a half weeks before drafting the Heisman winner Mendoza at the number one pick. They want to get their money’s worth of Cousins before truly giving Fernando the reigns. This is comparable to what the Patriots did in Drake Maye’s rookie year, only the Patriots didn’t pay Jacoby Brissett 34 million dollars a year, and I don’t think the Raiders are going to cave to the fans after just eight games. Anyway, look for Kirk Cousins to remain the starter for this year, allowing Fernando Mendoza to learn from the most mid old quarterback in the league, and not risk being injured.

Los Angeles Chargers

Justin Herbert Will Throw For The Least Passing Touchdowns In His Career

I want to start off by congratulating Justin Herbert on his recent engagement to singer-songwriter Madison Beer, but that doesn’t mean I think he will have a great year. No, rather, I believe that he will have a worse passing touchdown output than any other year of his career (not counting the injury-riddled year of 2023). The number I believe he will reach at the maximum is 22. Now, this is not because I don’t think he’s good enough. I just don’t think the Chargers will focus on passing the ball enough for him to get that many touchdowns. Last year, he threw for 26 touchdowns. The Chargers were one of the better teams in football, and even they weren’t scoring through the air that much. He also had just eight more passing attempts than his career low in a season (other than 2023, of course). I see him leading a solid offense, but not necessarily by scoring through the air.

Los Angeles Rams

Aaron Donald Doesn’t Actually Return To The Rams

This may not even be a hot take, and Aaron Donald may not even be considering joining the Rams after retiring early. However, so many people believe it is happening that I just have to say that I don’t think it will. While it would be exciting (for the Rams) and terrifying (for everyone else), I just don’t see it happening. Don’t get me wrong, Aaron Donald is buff, and he has in no way let himself go, but he is still almost three years removed from playing football. If he does return, it would certainly be a sight to see, but I think all these teases he’s doing is just stirring the media for some marketing attention. It’s smart, and he’s probably making a ton of money off of it, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he came out saying he “gave it some thought” and ultimately “decided against returning” even though he likely never truly considered it in the first place. Only time will tell, but the clock for the season to start is ticking, so he better do it fast if he’s going to.

Miami Dolphins

No Receiver Finishes The Season With 800+ Yards

Tua Tagovailoa (Credit: miamidolphins.com)

The Miami Dolphins are, to put it nicely, in hell. And I don’t mean figuratively. Miami is probably so hot that ice is catching on fire. But I also mean figuratively; as in, Malik Willis is their starting quarterback, and Malik Washington is their number one receiver. A lot of Malik W’s I’m now noticing. Now, I don’t think that any wide receiver (or even tight end) finished with over 800 yards. It certainly won’t be Jalen Tolbert, who struggled to even fit into a role as a wide receiver three on the Cowboys. Reading their depth chart reminded me of so many players I used to know, such as Jalen Reagor or Tutu Atwell. But ultimately, none of those guys are going to get 800 yards, especially with Malik Willis at quarterback. And listen, I respect Malik Willis. He earned a contract by being a stellar backup last year for Jordan Love. And while he could be successful, I doubt he will be with Malik Washington as his number one receiver. Miami is in for a lot of giving the ball to Devon Achane, who might actually be the only player on their roster capable of getting over 800 yards through the air, and he’s a running back.

Minnesota Vikings

Kyler Murray Has The Best TD/Interception Ratio Of His Career

MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA – SEPTEMBER 10: Justin Jefferson #18 of the Minnesota Vikings runs the ball against Carlton Davis III #24 of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the second quarter of a game at U.S. Bank Stadium on September 10, 2023 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Photo Credit to: Adam Bettcher/Getty Images)

The Minnesota Vikings witnessed some of the most poor quarterback play last season, starting (and ending) with “Nine” and also including rookie Max Brosmer’s four interception game. They also served as our yearly reminder that Carson Wentz still exists and is still playing football. This year, they have a better option. While I refuse to talk too highly about Kyler Murray, I can admit that he is a much better quarterback than anyone the Vikings started last year. Head Coach Kevin McConnell has something about him that allows him to turn bad quarterbacks into okay quarterbacks, and okay quarterbacks into good ones. He did it with Kirk Cousins, and he did it with Sam Darnold. Kyler Murray is already joining Minnesota with the talent of a starting quarterback. I think this year, under a new system, with a new coach, and a clean slate, he will have one of his best seasons, complete with his best touchdown to interception ratio.

New England Patriots

A.J. Brown Records More Than 100 Receptions

Stefon Diggs, a former Bills player, looks at the Highmark Stadium crowd, who react to his return before the Bills’ home game against the New England Patriots at Highmark Stadium. / Tina MacIntyre-Yee/Democrat and Chronicle / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images

As a Cowboys fan, I am extremely delighted that A.J. Brown is out of our division. It was a little sad seeing him so misused by the Eagles, and while I’m glad to see him gone, I think what he can do with the Patriots is scary. A.J. Brown had just 78 receptions last season, for only 1,003 yards. However, in games where he had over ten targets, he finished under 100 yards just once, and under 7 receptions just once. If he gets the usage he was wishing for when he asked out of Philly, then he will surpass the threshold of 100 targets. The Patriots should be pretty good, too, considering they already made the Super Bowl and have added one of the top ten receivers in the game. And while I don’t necessarily think that Philadelphia will regret losing Brown, I think the Patriots will be very fond of where they ended up because of the trade.

New Orleans Saints

Win The NFC South With A Winning Record

While I won’t say that New Orleans is destined to be one of the contenders in the NFC, I will admit that I see them having a winning record, and I see them succeeding against their own division. The Saints finished last season on a 5-3 run to end the year after starting 1-8. They at one point were on a four game winning streak. People may be discouraged by their underperformance in the preseason against the Rams, but I find that irrelevant for two reasons. One, it’s preseason. Two, when the Saints switched their starting quarterback to Tyler Shough after starting 1-7, they lost almost identically to the Rams. Even so, they continued to play pretty good football to end the year, regardless of their horrible performance against the Rams. Tyler Shough finished the year strong, looking like a potential starting quarterback. The Saints also swept the Carolina Panthers last year, and split with Buccaneers. They are capable of winning nine games or more, and I see that being enough to win the NFC South this season.

New York Giants

Odell Beckham Jr. Fails To Score A Touchdown

Cam Skattebo (upside down, center) celebrates after scoring a touchdown during the fourth quarter of the Giants game against the Philadelphia Eagles at MetLife Stadium on Oct. 9, 2025, in East Rutherford, New Jersey.Al Bello / Getty Images

There’s no doubt that Odell Beckham Jr.’s return to the Giants has a massive nostalgia factor. The truth about him, though, is that he is just not that good. In fact, as I was researching to write this passage, I realized that he is currently listed at wide receiver six anyway, so he’s not only very unlikely to score a touchdown, he is fighting just for a starting spot. I still find value in predicting against OBJ, because of a nostalgia factor of my own, that being that in my first article in my freshman year, I also predicted against OBJ. The only difference was it was more of a hot take than this one, and he was on the Ravens, not the Giants. Overall, I don’t know what to think of or expect from this Giants team. Half of me wants to think that they just won’t be good at all, and the other half kind of thinks they might have something going for them. Anyway, one thing I’m certain of, is that OBJ won’t be doing much for them this season.

New York Jets

Beat Every Team In Their Division At Least Once

Sep 7, 2025; East Rutherford, New Jersey, USA; New York Jets defensive tackle Quinnen Williams (95) celebrates after a defensive stop during the game against the Pittsburgh Steelers at MetLife Stadium. Photo Credit: Vincent Carchietta-Imagn Images

This is what I like to call a shot in the dark. I don’t know (or care) enough about the Jets to make a true bold prediction. However, it wouldn’t roll off of the tongue well to say “Bold Predictions For Every Team Except The New York Jets.” So, I crafted this prediction. The Jets will beat every team in their division at least once. They will upset the New England Patriots, they will upset the Buffalo Bills, and they will beat the Miami Dolphins (I’m very confident of that). They won’t be a good team or anything, but they will win some games against their division rivals. This may have been the most difficult passage in the whole article to write, because I have never been less invested in a sports take than this one right here.

Philadelphia Eagles

Jalen Hurts And The Tush Push Have An All-Time Low Season

Zack Baun, Jihaad Campbell, and the Eagles defense bailed out the offense in the second half against the Buccaneers.

I’m all for chastising the Philadelphia Eagles, but most of the time I do it it’s in vain, because they don’t deserve the criticism. Now, I am confident that they will not have a great season. I don’t like that they lost A.J. Brown. I think that will hurt their offense. Now, if their coordinators come in and do something special, then good for them. But I think the offense takes a hit, namely because Jalen Hurts struggles without a star wide receiver one (I respect DeVonta Smith, but he hasn’t had to be a true wide receiver one since Alabama, or maybe 2022 but still). Furthermore, I think season by season, the impact of the tush push will slowly decline. I think that teams will either start to master it for themselves, or figure out how to adequately stop it. Or, maybe I don’t think that, and some part of me thinks that the referees will start calling it fair, and not letting them commit a false start penalty every time they do it. Now, maybe this is wishful thinking, but I’m okay with that. I think the Eagles will be less successful than in past years, and I’m all for it.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Have A Winning Record Despite Losing Mike Tomlin

Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle Cam Heyward (97), head coach Mike Tomlin, center, and quarterback Aaron Rodgers (8) leave the field following an NFL football game against the New York Jets Sunday, Sept. 7, 2025, in East Rutherford, N.J.

It’s a well known trend that Mike Tomlin, former longtime head coach for the Pittsburgh Steelers who recently stepped down from head coaching duties, had never had a losing record in his career. Now, there’s nuance to that fact. He’s had plenty of 9-8 seasons, as well as 8-8 seasons before the 17th game was added. And sometimes, I get annoyed when I hear somewhere remark that he’s had “a winning record every year” when it’s just not technically true. But still, he’s had an impressive career. Even more, the Steelers themselves haven’t had a losing record since 2003. That’s twenty-three years of being at the very least mid. Now, has that translated to playoff success? Not since 2008. But, the record still stands, and in what I see as Aaron Rodgers’ last season in the NFL, I see them having one last hurrah and finishing with at least nine wins for at least one more time. The season after that, however, I don’t think they should look forward to that.

San Francisco 49ers

Lose Very Poorly To The Dallas Cowboys In Week Ten

49ers players celebrate after making a big play against the Jaguars. Photo Credit to: 49ers.com

Once again, I favored the Dallas Cowboys very heavily in almost all of my picks involving them, and I will stand by it. But this isn’t about the Cowboys. The San Francisco 49ers did my a huge favor when they beat the Eagles in the playoffs last year, but I won’t ever be rooting for them again. And I will not be rooting for Osa Odighizuwa, who was traded from the Cowboys to the Niners earlier this offseason. It’s all love for Osa, but he’s a 49er now. If you couldn’t tell, I’m not a very big fan of the 49ers. I hope in week ten that the Cowboys absolutely destroy them. I’m talking 20+ points. I hope Joe Milton III is playing in the third quarterback because we’re beating them so bad. Will it happen? Well, I could definitely see us beating them. But a blowout? That’s wishful thinking. Regardless, that’s my take, and I’m willing to risk looking foolish to potentially look like a prophet.

Seattle Seahawks

Offense Struggles, Falling To Average League-Wide

This is the final stretch. The last four teams that I have to write about. And I’ll be honest, I’m a little fatigued after coming up with a take for everything. The fact of the matter is that not every team is interesting enough to make a prediction about. Now, the general trend is that teams/players that were bad last year get preferable predictions (improvements, breakouts, etc.) while really good teams/players get less favorable predictions (falloffs, injuries, disappointments). So, this is no different. The Seattle Seahawks lost Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III to the Chiefs in free agency, and I think that’s enough to drop them down significantly when it comes to offense. Overall, it’s difficult for a team to remain contenders after winning the Super Bowl, because good players deserve more money, so it becomes harder to keep them. Losing Kenneth Walker III will hinder them, and I’m sure they’ll adjust, but I think a slow start keeps them just about average around the league offensively.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Are Eliminated From The Playoffs By Christmas

Sep 21, 2025; Tampa, Florida, USA; Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Antoine Winfield Jr. (31) and the dense line up against the New York Jets in the first quarter at Raymond James Stadium. Nathan Ray Seebeck-Imagn Images

I was a huge supporter of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after a hot start last season. In fact, I think I’m on record saying they were the best team in the league after week three of last season. The only issue is, they have a lot of issues. Mike Evans is gone. Chris Godwin wasn’t that good last year, granted he was recovering from a major injury. The defense was already bad, and didn’t do much to get better. Safe to say I’m not as high on them as I was last year. I think it’s also safe to say that they could be 4-10 or worse coming out of their game against Baltimore. That kind of record should have them firmly out of playoff contention, if not mathematically out of playoff contention. Don’t get me wrong, I want to be proven wrong. I really want the Buccaneers to succeed, but I just don’t see it happening.

Tennessee Titans

Brian Daboll Either Unlocks Cam Ward Immediately, Or Is Fired In January

I may have gone too easy on myself with this prediction. Oh, wow, suspicious offensive coordinator hire gets fired unless he is able to unlock a highly touted draft pick who showed promise during his rookie campaign. That seems to happen every year. But here’s the deal. This is the Titans best chance to develop a franchise quarterback before they have real expectations. They added Tony Pollard a few years ago, and now have number four overall pick Carnell Tate for Cam Ward to throw to. The thing is, no one is expecting the Titans to be good. If they struggle this year but Cam Ward looks really good, that is fixable. They can go into the offseason knowing exactly what they need to do to succeed. But if Cam Ward doesn’t look good enough, they won’t be able to do that, and Brian Daboll is most likely gone. So, it’s time for Daboll to help Cam Ward help Daboll, and secure both of them a long term job with the Titans. If that doesn’t happen, bye bye Daboll.

Only Win 4 Games, Out Of Respect For Jayden Daniels

I don’t like the Commanders’ roster. Terry McLaurin is okay, sure. Stefon Diggs is exciting maybe. Jayden Daniels is pretty good, albeit injury prone. The defense is whatever. But I don’t think last season gave them much to be excited about. Through five games, they had a record of 3-2, sure. But overall, they only won five games last season. Now, to avoid the risk of being sent a cease-and-desist letter from Jayden Daniels for using his number so affluently, I will predict that the Commanders win just four games this year, as opposed to Jayden Daniels’ five. They don’t look that good in my opinion, and I see no reason that they will suddenly turn it back around. As a sidenote, as a huge LSU football fan I would like to say to Jayden Daniels: you were good, dude, but you weren’t Joe Burrow. Quit acting like you were Joe Burrow. As for Washington, I think they remain firmly behind everyone else in the NFC East, in fourth (not fifth) place, and potentially having a top four (not five) pick in next year’s draft.

Whew. That was exhilarating. If it wasn’t already abundantly clear, I am very excited for the NFL season, especially because I truly think the Cowboys could do something impressive. I’m hoping this really is the year. But, even if that doesn’t happen, I’m still excited to watch every game I can. I’m also looking forward to looking back after the season at which picks I guessed correctly and which aged poorly. I’m hoping for at least fifty percent. Only time will tell.
