Johnny Stacer won first place in Dallas and in the nation for his essay on "Selling as a Career." Awards: $1,000 year scholarship for SMU and all- expense trip to Detroit. However, Stacer entered the novitiate in February 1951 and could not accept the S.M.U. scholarship. The Salesmanship sent a monetary gift to him at Grand Coteau.
