Many successful businesses started from humble beginnings, with entrepreneurs working tirelessly to bring their ideas to life. Companies like Apple, Amazon, and Google started in garages or dorm rooms, and through hard work and determination, they grew to become some of the most successful companies in the world.

The TecBridge Highschool Business Plan competition provides an opportunity for high school students to experience what it’s like to create a business from the ground up. The Jesuit Digital Marketing Club saw this as a chance to showcase their creativity, innovation, and business acumen, and they jumped at the opportunity to participate over spring break.

The High School Business Plan Competition (HSBPC) is a competitive program with over 2,000 participants from all over the country. The HSBPC challenges high school and home school teams to create a STEAM-based business. Teams would conduct research in key areas required to build a successful business and tell their business story through a formal written response and presentation. From there a select group of entrepreneurs, business professionals, and educators will evaluate submissions to identify finalist teams that will move to a live presentation round. In the live presentation, round teams will present their business plan presentations and answer judges’ questions. Top teams are expected to develop sustainable and scalable concepts while demonstrating creativity, critical thinking, and strong presentation skills.

Instead of focusing on eco-friendly products, the DMC team created a software platform that utilizes machine learning algorithms to help businesses optimize their digital marketing strategies. Through extensive research and analysis of industry trends, the team identified a gap in the market for a comprehensive digital marketing tool that utilizes artificial intelligence to deliver personalized recommendations and insights. This technology allowed us to deliver targeted content to specific demographics, resulting in a significant increase in engagement and conversion rates for our clients. Our software was so advanced that it caught the attention of the judges, who praised us for our innovative approach to digital marketing.

The DMC team’s business plan included a formal written response and a captivating presentation that showcased their expertise in digital marketing and software development. The judges will announce finalists at the end of the month.
