Jesuit Varsity Volleyball went into February with huge expectations following an impressive 2025 campaign that saw them competing in the State championship against St. Mark’s. After losing just one Senior heading into this year, the stage was set for the Varsity team to build-off of what they did and compete again for a State Championship. They’ve started off strong, and they are in good position to be among the top teams in April.

February saw the start of the season, a season that has gone splendidly so far. The Rangers began play on February 17, where they defeated Wylie handedly (3-1) to start off undefeated on the year. The following Monday (February 23), the Rangers would sweep Wylie East (3-0) in a game that saw a thrilling comeback on the final set. Two days later, they defeated Greenhill (3-1) to break a three-game losing streak against them. That Friday, the Rangers competed in a three-game tournament that saw them beating Plano East (2-0), Steele Accelerated (2-0), and St. Mark’s (2-1). With a record of 6-0, the Rangers exited February undefeated for the year. One of their key victories included a tournament victory over their foes in last year’s State Championship.

“Jesuit Volleyball has giben me a strong, supportive group of brothers that have helped me both on and off the court. I’m lucky to be on such an uplifting team, and I’m grateful for the memories I’ve made these past couple of years.” – Grant Bomersbach ’26

March saw the end of the Rangers’ undefeated season, but Jesuit was nonetheless competitive and impactful in the month. For starters, on March 3, the Rangers defeated Plano West (3-1) at home. That Friday, the Rangers competed in another tournament, in which they won their first game against Allen (2-0) but ultimately fell to the Red River Rattlers (1-2), ending their night earlier than imagined. On March 10, the Rangers would win a rematch against Wylie (3-2) on the road, and on March 11, they swept Rockwall in their final game before the First Point National High School Invitational in Austin. There the Rangers won their first two games against Trinity Christian (GA) (2-1) and La Cueva HS (2-1) before losing to The Cyclones (1-2). They swept Strake Jesuit the following day (2-0) before falling to TC Roberson (0-2). Finally, they completed the tournament with a win in a rematch against The Cyclones (2-0).

Final Thoughts

The Rangers hope to continue their impressive season (14-3) heading into April. As of now, their coach has them rolling fearlessly into matchups. After a rematch against the Red River Rattlers, the Rangers will play Rockwall, and then Wylie East twice, before heading into the TBHSV Tournament. There they hope to finish the season strong.
