Coming into the Invitational 2-4, Jesuit went 4-1-1 at home beating Grapevine, who is top 5 in Texas and top 10 in the nation, and tied with Magnolia Heights, who is top 50 in the nation.
El Paso Americas
Jesuit started out the V-Tool Invitational with a win over El Paso 10-2. Alex Barr ’26 drove in two runs for Jesuit, one of which was a RBI, and the other being a solo home run. Cole Johnson ’27, Charlie Wilson ’26, and Brooks Kowal ’26 all had one RBI with a RBI double. Finally, James Jorgensen ’26 and Griffin Civello ’27 both added to the RBI chart with one RBI via a RBI single. Sebastian Lasa ’26 had a great game on the mound going five innings, one walk, three hits, and eight strikeouts. Cole Johnson helped close out the game allowing only one hit in his inning.

Buda Johnson
In the second game of the V-Tool Invitational, Jesuit fell to Buda Johnson 3-5 after a late comeback attempt. Alex Barr accounted for two of the three runs with a two run home run in the seventh. James Jorgensen batted in the other runner with a RBI single in the fifth.

Grapevine
Jesuit tackled Grapevine fiercely, winning 2-1 vs the 6th best team in the nation at the time. James Jorgensen had an absolute gem vs Grapevine, allowing two walks and hits, zero earned runs, and struck out nine through four innings. Then, Hudson Voss ’28 came into relief and threw three innings, allowing only one walk, one hit, and striking out three, earning the save for Jesuit. Alex Barr scored the first run for Jesuit on a fielder’s choice and Griffin Civello scored the other with a RBI double. Nate Iannariello ’28 also had a nice day at the plate, going two for three and touching home plate once.

Perry (Ariz.) HS
Jesuit continued to stack wins with an 8-4 victory over Perry High School. Jesuit had a home run derby vs Perry with Nate Iannariello, Brooks Kowal, and Alex Barr all hitting solo home runs as well as having two RBI’s and multi hit days. Cooper Patton ’27 had the other RBI for Jesuit via an RBI double. J.P. Malone ’27 earned the win for Jesuit as well as having 5 strikeouts and one walk in 5.1 innings. Levi Secker ’27 came in relief and threw 1.2 scoreless innings.

Magnolia Heights (Miss.)
Magnolia Heights was another nationally ranked team that Jesuit faced. Magnolia Heights is currently ranked 19th in the nation and after being down 1-8, Jesuit crawled back to leave the game at a stalemate 8-8. Roman Derichsweiler ’27 had a huge game for Jesuit, going 3-4 with four RBIs, three of which came from a bases-clearing double. Carter Noland ’26 and Nate Iannariello both got themselves an RBI single for Jesuit and Griffin Civello and Jacob Martinez ’26 both finished with an RBI for Jesuit in this offensive battle.
McKinney Boyd
In their final game of the V-Tool, Jesuit Baseball ended on a high note, defeating McKinney Boyd 16-0. Jesuit had 3 home runs this game, a three-run homer from Cole Johnson and Charlie Wilson and a two-run home run from James Jorgensen. Brooks Kowal and Preston Farragut ’27 both got themselves 2 RBIs for Jesuit through a triple from Brooks and a single from Preston. Finally, Braxton Barber ’26, Robbie Ruiz ’27, and Max Reichstadt ’26 all completed the offensive stat sheet for Jesuit, getting one RBI each. Cooper Patton earned the win for Jesuit, going four innings while allowing zero runs and one hit. Jack Williams ’26 closed out the game for Jesuit only allowing two hits and zero runs.

Conclusion
Jesuit Baseball looked very strong during the V-Tool tournament, establishing their status versus many great teams. They look to add on to this momentum during districts.
