Mixing It Up: The 2025 Freshman Mixer

-

On September 6th, Jesuit hosted their annual Freshman Mixer, showcasing the new friendships of the Class of 2029.

Where Jesuit Meets Ursuline

Every fall, Jesuit Dallas and Ursuline Academy continue a long-standing tradition of hosting a joint freshman mixer. The event gives both schools’ newest students a chance to meet, socialize, and begin forming connections that will last throughout their high school years.

Following the night, Lucas Maitland ’29 remarked,

“The mixer made us feel right at home and excited for the year ahead,”

a statement that captures the excitement and energy of our newest students joining the Jesuit community.

The Experience

Held at Ranger Stadium, the night was packed full of numerous activities in which the freshmen could participate. Most importantly though, the mixer was an excellent opportunity for Jesuit and Ursuline students to interact as both schools are single-gender schools. A lot of freshmen clearly stepped out of their comfort zones.

At the corner of the endzone, freshman could try their luck at the blackjack and poker tables run by professional dealers. Everyone who gambled seemed to have a great time losing or winning fake money. The Jesuit portion of the crowd also got some valuable experience just in time for Father-Son Casino Night.

Final Thoughts

Ultimately the Freshman Mixer was a success. Duncan Hernandez ’29 stated that he had

“Never felt so good to be a Ranger,”

a message that summarized the enthusiasm of the class.
