Progressing into the Future: The New Leadership of The Roundup

-

Since 1942, The Roundup has documented the history of Jesuit Dallas. It has served as a platform for student voice, recording student opinions on just about everything that takes place on campus (and beyond). With daily publications, staff meetings, article edits, faculty interviews, and student recruitment, The Roundup is always busy and up to work. For everything to run smoothly, this newspaper demands two great leaders – an Editor-In-Chief and a Managing Editor.

This year, for both roles, The Roundup will see two experienced members with new and innovative ideas to shape The Roundup and progress the newspaper forward.

Zachary Ingham ’26

Zachary Ingham ’26 served as the Viewpoint Editor for the 2024-2025 school year, advancing the section into one of the most viewed sections in the paper. Ingham cultivated a variety of different writers to write engaging pieces about their interests and opinions in a variety of topics from politics to food reviews to pop culture. In his time with the paper he has written 22 articles, many of great length.

Zach brings many new ideas to the table about student recruitment, improving the efficiency and quality of the paper, and ideas of incorporating new areas of coverage into the paper, such as our new business section.

“I am really confident in our decision of choosing Zach as Editor-in-Chief; he will be a strong leader with great ideas to expand the club.” -previous Managing Editor Ben Woodard ’25

“Zach is going to take the Jesuit readership to another level next year. The quality of his writing will keep the audience captivated and coming back for more.” -Associate Editor Drew Shippey ’27

Sebastian Suwanda ’26

Sebastian Suwanda ’26 served as the News editor during the 2024-2025 school year, covering all the many Jesuit news areas, such as the new construction, campus ministry events, and Jesuit traditions. Sebastian has always served with an infectious smile and radiates positivity in everyone around him, welcoming everyone and making the newspaper an enjoyable place to be. He has also displayed organizational skills that will serve him well during his time as Managing Editor. In his time with the paper he has written 45 articles.

Sebastian hopes to improve The Roundup through a revitalization of the social media section and continue building relationships with new writers. He wants to continue to promote a joyous culture and provide a community of brothers with mentorship from upperclassmen to lowerclassmen.

“Sebastian has a great outgoing personality that will help him excel as Managing Editor. I am really excited for his leadership to shine next year.” -previous Managing Editor Ben Woodard ’25

“Sebastian is extremely consistent with his editing and will fast track the production of publishing articles en masse.” -Associate Editor Drew Shippey ’27

Both Zachary and Sebastian will do a phenomenal job leading The Roundup next year. Both bring several years of experience as section and associate editors and have already progressed the paper in the own sections. I look forward to seeing how they grow the paper and seeing the ways it will improve, and I cannot wait to see them succeed in the future.
