Unexpected Greatness at a Neighborhood Italian Restaurant

-

One day last year, I was looking at restaurants on Google Maps to try and find a new place to have dinner. Shockingly, my randomized searching on Google Maps resulted in me finding one of my favorite Italian Restaurants in Dallas. Speranza is an Italian Restaurant located in North Dallas on the Preston and Frankford intersection. I love Speranza because of the quality of food, intimate atmosphere, and great service.

Speranza’s Delicious Menu

From the first bite to the last bite, Speranza’s variety of flavors make me excited to go to the restaurant every time. With their complementary focaccia bread, you can unmistakably become full just on their bread because of the salty crust and fatty olive oil the you dip the bread in. Their traditional caesar salad is a great sharable dish that has great crisp Romaine lettuce and creamy caesar dressing. Some of my favorite entrees include the lasagna, eggplant parmesan, and the wood-fired pizzas. Out of all the dishes, the eggplant parmesan is my favorite. The first time I visited the restaurant, I asked my waitress for her recommendations and she recommended this dish. I love this dish because of the crisp, fried eggplant, the melty mozzarella, the garlic-y pasta, and the subtle drizzle of balsamic vinegar on top. Each component of Speranza’s dishes, just like the eggplant parmesan, work beautifully together to form a cohesive and complete dish. To finish of a meal at Speranza’s I love the cannolis with the traditional ricotta filling, the caramelized shell, and the bright blueberry compote on the side that offers a nice acidic tang to the sweet cannoli.

Intimate Atmosphere

This family owned restaurant offers the most welcoming atmosphere with a great restaurant design. The dark tint of the restaurant offers an intimate setting to have great conversations with others. I love the rectangle design of the restaurant with the perimeter having booth seating and the interior having traditional table tops. In addition, the kitchen has a semi-open design where guests are able to view chefs making the artisanal wood-fired pizzas. To add to the mood of the restaurant, Speranza has live music events on occasion where you can see the dates on their website.

Great Service

Each time I have been at Speranza, I have experienced warm and inviting customer service. The waiting staff works together to efficiently get orders out quickly. The waiting staff gets to know the regulars at the restaurant and makes new comers feel welcomed and at home. Additionally, the manager is regularly at the restaurant and is very inviting as she walks around the tables to ensure all the guests are having a top-notch experience.

Conclusion

As a passionate cook myself, I am inspired by Speranza because they make a great reputation of how food service should properly work. If I ever own my restaurant, I would want to imitate Speranza’s success as they focus on the experience that guests have with Italian food. I extremely recommend Speranza to everyone seeking a new restaurant to put in their rotation. For more food reviews, stay tuned on The Jesuit Roundup!
