A Season of Gratitude: Why We Should be Thankful for Donors

-

On Thursday November 7, Jesuit Dallas will host the annual Thank a Donor Day, where students will have opportunity to show their gratitude to the numerous donors we have for our school.

William Wayne said, “I want to thank all the generous and kind donors that have deeply impacted Jesuit as a whole. Thanks to you, we are able to have amazing facilities and truly live out the Jesuit mission. Thank you very much for everything!”

Why are Donors Important?

We should be thankful for the numerous resources our school has from the support of 1000’s of donors. Donors provide financial aid, scholarships, and numerous amenities for our school. This year $3.1 million in financial aid was distributed to over 279 students, over 25% of our student body. Additionally, 100% of the faculty and staff made a gift to Jesuit this year.

Michael Hazenfratz ’25 said, “I love Jesuit, the community has helped shape who I am and taught me many valuable lessons. This wonderful experience would not be possible without the generosity of our donors who make our mission possible. From the bottom of my heart, thank you!”

Fabain Mares ’25 said, “My time at Jesuit has been one that has transformed me and shaped me into the young man I am today. Without the donors I don’t have any idea on who I would or where I would be right now.”

The Alumni phonathon is where volunteers make calls to alumni to ask for donations; the phonathon will be occurring on November 11-14. Click here for more information. Over 100 Jesuit alumni will come to campus to participate in this event.

Our alumni are especially generous when it comes to donations. Alumni donors range from the class of 1946-2024. 2,050 alumni made a gift to the Phonathon last year and 1,030 alumni have made an annual gift to Jesuit for 5 or more years in a row. Additionally, last year 117 alumni made their first gift back to Jesuit, including 29 member from the class of 2024. Thank you to all of the alumni who have been extremely generous in supporting our school!

Peyton Bristow ’25 said, “The donors have allowed to me explore different passions in clubs like The Roundup and Jesuit Ranger Sports Network which have shaped my leadership skills and provided career oriented experiences.”

On Thursday November 7, students will be able to thank donors by writing cards to donors outside of the cafeteria. Students will also be educated more about the impact donors have on our campus. Please consider participating in this event as prizes might be given throughout the day as well.
