Arie Van Selm’s Majestic Crow

-

With the introduction of new artistic productions by Arie Van Selm, previously containing four major pieces, the Jesuit Dallas museum has only grown in size. Featuring a new piece, Van Selm displayed a majestic crow. Whilst in Dallas, the bird came to Arie Van Selm during an unusually snowy winter.

“A crow in the snow. I watched her for a long time. I saw that clear black shape of the crow on the pure white ground. I saw elegance and strength in her appearance and stride. I immediately made some drawings. Ever since then I have been under her spell.”

The Jesuit Dallas Museum’s exhibition of Arie Van Selm’s pieces lasts until May. I greatly encourage you to stop for a second to appreciate it and all the other magnificent work.

Interview with Mrs. Hunt-Blanc

How is Jesuit Dallas able to bring in pieces from a high-profile artist like Arie Van Selm?

After hearing Arie was in town, Mrs. Hunt-Blanc, Director of the Jesuit Dallas Museum, invited Arie Van Selm to come to see his painting at Jesuit Dallas, and he was thrilled to see them because he’s all about education. Leading to the addition of his new piece to the Jesuit Dallas Museum’s collection.

It’s always usually artists that we’ve known, artists that focus on social justice, anything that is parallel with our curriculum.” – Mrs. Hunt-Blanc

What is the importance of bringing in these high-profile artists?

Director of the Jesuit Dallas Museum, Mrs. Hunt-Blanc, said: “It gives Awareness for all of our students, and I think it is exciting for students to be able to meet someone that is a high profile artist and also for them to see what his path was like.”

Summary

The growing interest in the Jesuit Dallas Museum is bringing new artists and a growing collection of magnificent art. The addition of a new piece from Arie Van Selm only legitimizes the expanding collection. I would not be surprised if we ran out of space for these delicacies in the future.
