On April 15, 2023, at around 7 PM, masses of Jesuit students and their dates and friends from other schools crowded outside the entrance. At the entrance, Jesuit and Ursuline administrators formed a tunnel and greeted the eager students. Soon, dinner was served through fresh catering of chicken parmesan, baked ziti, and salad. After the dinner, the students crowded and conquered the dance floor until 10:30-11 PM. Throughout prom night, students and their dates would enjoy everything from the company of friends to the dance.
MR. HANLEY’S THOUGHTS
Recently, I had the opportunity to ask Mr. Hanley to share his thoughts on this year’s prom.
Regarding logistics and students, how well was prom executed?
“I grade prom based on two things: student factor and logistics. First of all, the students were cooperative and well-mannered. The Jesuit students introduced their dates to their teachers that they saw.”
“Regarding logistics, the prom was well-executed. When you have 1060 students all trying to enter in a 30-minute window, I don’t think the line backed up at all. So, this successful feat’s credit goes to the 8 teachers who were checking students in and helping them find their tables.”
“In addition, the meal service went well, especially when buffet dinner was served to 1000+ students. The line for food went quickly, and the students were able to get food and dine in a timely manner.”
ROUNDUP THOUGHTS
Recently, I had the opportunity of asking the distinctive gentlemen of The Roundup to share their experiences on prom night.
“The food was surprisingly good and I think everyone was satisfied. If I were to grade the music based on the English essay rubric, I would give it an upper progressing. But overall, prom was a great experience and I’m sure the juniors will be excited to go back next year.” – LOGAN THOMPSON ’24, EIC

CONCLUSION
Personally, I believe that this year’s prom has proven to be a tremendous success. C’était une bonne fête! This thrilling and memorable evening would not have been possible without the work of all faculty and staff and facilitators present.
