Jesuit bowling has continued to show dominance in district play through our crushing victories against Irving Nimitz and Flower Mound Marcus. We have dominated in our singles and bakers matches allowing for our early successes, but look forward to continuing our journey with a win against Lewisville on January 14th. I am confident we can continue to play at high level and show our strength as a team. — William K. Spicer
Irving Nimitz:
On November 29th, Jesuit bowling traveled to USA Bowl to compete against Irving Nimitz. The third shutout of the year, Jesuit has continued a roll and momentum early in the season so far this season in their non-districts games. The bowling team has continued to improve their overall score from each game; in total Jesuit Bowling had 1,640 points compared to the Vikings’ 836 points, roughly doubling their amount. Not one Jesuit bowler lost any of their games to Nimitz. Leading the charge for the bowling team was junior bowler Chris Ellis with a personal high for himself and the team this season with an astounding 214 with a split series with William Martin. Senior Kevin Martinez led the team in scoring with 208 and 177 in both games respectively. Corbin Hicks and sub John Risinger also won their game 266-170; additionally, everyone’s combined effort led to the largest sweep so far this season.

Flower Mound Marcus:
On December 10th, 2022, Jesuit Bowling traveled to USA Bowl to take on the Marauders. During this season, Jesuit has limited teams to shut outs, however, Marcus has been the only team to score in either the dual match or baker games.

Sophomore Kevin Martinez leads the team in the bowling score average category with an astounding score of 182.5 from his two matches between Irving MacArthur and Irving Nimitz. Jesuit bowling is right back at the lanes on January 14th against Lewisville at 1 P.M. at AMF Lewisville. The last contest between Lewisville and Jesuit was roughly about a year ago when Jesuit won 14-1 in both the singles and baker games.
Lewisville:
On January 14th, Jesuit arguably had their largest match of the year against a talented Lewisville team. The only win of the day was junior Chase Hollman who had a stellar two-game performance of 188 and 209. He won 397-299. He earned the only point of the game for the Rangers, while most of the other Jesuit bowlers had difficulty. Lewisville had control of the baker games, where they maintained possession all three games. Lewisville won with a score of 520-419. Jesuit falls 1-14.
Lake Dallas:
On January 21st, Jesuit was fuming to rebound and look for vengeance in this matchup against Lake Dallas. Kevin Martinez ’25 lost a close match by 1 point according to the dual match results. William Spicer had a big time win, where he beat his opponent by more than 42 points. He scored a 188, and a 128 respectively. Corbin Hicks ’25 and sub William Martin ’24 won 266-254 to earn a point. Lastly, senior Andrew Abraham ’23 and sub Joseph Kohout ’26 won a close game winning by 7. The score for that dual match was 210-203. Lake Dallas won the first two baker games, and then the last baker game #3 Jesuit capitalized. They received 4 points each in their bout. Jesuit won 9-6.
Irving Nimitz:
After a convincing match and baker game win against Lake Dallas, Jesuit Bowling was looking to capitalize against the Vikings. Earlier in the season, Jesuit shut out Nimitz and was looking to repeat that. Leading the charge for the Rangers was junior Chase Hollman, Hollman finished his two-game stretch with a score of 387, and right behind him was junior William Spicer ’24. In the bakers’ games out of the three matches, Jesuit rocked Irving with a score of 414-257. Jesuit won 15-0. It was good to see Jesuit get the momentum rolling before district championships and their remaining three games left against MacArthur on the 7th of February, Flower Mound Marcus on Saturday the 11th, and arch-rival Lewisville to cap the season off on Saturday the 18th.
