Jesuit Thank a Donor Day Recap

-

November 10th, 2022. One might think this day would be a typical Tuesday in the life of the Jesuit Rangers. However, it was anything but a typical day, while outside our very own cafeteria, the hallways were overflowing with energy and students’ enthusiasm. The inaugural Jesuit Thank a Donor Day event was in full swing, providing an opportunity for the Jesuit community to show our appreciation for the donors who helped make the experience at Jesuit possible. You can find The Roundup’s Donor Day Preview through this link.

“I am proud to be a part of a community that values and prioritizes educating students on the importance of gratitude. Thank a Donor Day was a huge success!” – Chelsea Hafertepe

Thank a Donor Day Recap

In order to properly show our appreciation and gratitude, hundreds of students, faculty, and staff stopped by the Thank a Donor Day table, writing thank you notes and learning more about the impact of the donors who help make your experience at Jesuit possible.

Jesuit Staff celebrating Thank a Donor Day

To be exact, our grateful Rangers produced 561 thank you postcards. These cards have been mailed to Jesuit’s donors, showing how members of the Jesuit community greatly appreciate their generosity.

Jesuit students also took part in sharing video testimonials capturing the gratitude they feel towards the donors and their gifts. These cards and videos represent the imperative gravity that donors have on the Jesuit community.

Not only did this event include thanking our benefactors, but it also increased awareness regarding the crucial impact of the gifts made. The students were given facts sheets detailing important information about philanthropy at Jesuit, informing our student body of our remarkable support.

Cooper Cutler ’24 mentioned that he was “very drawn to the setup and the staff did a good job attracting everyone to the table”. He also noted; “I had no idea how much the donors do for us until now.”

The Manager of Stewardship and Donor Relations Chelsea Hafertepe, one of the many staff members who helped orchestrate the event, shared, “we were able to accomplish our goals of celebrating our donors while also educating our students on the importance of giving back and expressing appreciation.”

Alumni Phonathon

The Alumni Phonathon kicked off November 14th, when over 100 alumni came to Jesuit in order to call their Jesuit brothers asking for financial support. The phonathon has been a tremendous success so far and has raised $1,196,433 as of November 28th. Thank you to all of our alumni who have already answered the call to support our worthy and deserving
students.

Jesuit Thank a Donor Day served as a vital representation of our student body’s gratitude and awareness of the importance of our donors. The staff in charge of the event would like to say thank you to the Jesuit Dallas community for making this a memorable day on campus!
