After a long, hard-fought season, Jesuit Golf has excelled yet again with their recent stellar performance at Varsity’s FM Jaguar Bear Creek Invitational and JV’s Plano ISD Invitational, with our boys strolling in first place at both. The team has really proven itself this year by dominating the competition through hard work and talent.
FM Jaguar Bear Creek Invitational
Our Varsity boys displayed their talent, teamwork, and determination last weekend, November 12th, at the FM Jaguar Bear Creek Invitational to end off their fall season. They emerged victorious in first place against frigid weather and tough competition, which included school rivals. Jesuit’s main rivals included Highland Park, Coppell, Plano West, Flower Mound Marcus, and Southlake.
Junior Max Chan led the way for Jesuit with an absolutely phenomenal performance shooting a 73 and winning the Individual. Chan’s 73 was followed by the other valiant team efforts with 75 from sophomore Harrison Carter ’24, 77s from both sophomores Connor Chisum and Miles Russel, as well as 79 from sophomore Nicholas Norris. Overall, Jesuit Dallas had a team score of 302, wrapping up this momentous season with another outstanding win.

JV’s End-of-Season Success
Similarly, JV smoked the competition at the Plano ISD tournament at Pecan Hollow on November 2nd, earning first place by 25 shots. Freshmen JJ Kinzer and Jimmy Nackley tied for the Individual by both scoring a 74. This was followed by freshman Mason Arnold shooting an 82, junior George Murray shooting a 79, and sophomore Tim Sparks shooting a 75, resulting in a total team score of 302.
JV then further showed off their talent and teamwork on November 8th by winning the Midlothian Heritage JV tournament at The Golf Club of Dallas, shooting an impressive score of 299. This time, Tim Sparks led the way, winning the Individual with a score of 71. JV has done an incredible job of making the end of this fall season memorable.
Looking Back at the Fall Season
Overall, the 2022 fall season has been an outstanding and unforgettable success for our boys. Whether it was securing new team records at the Bart Granger Memorial Tournament at the start of the year or playing through the harsh cold to win first place last weekend, the Jesuit Golf team will give it their all no matter what against the fierce 6-A competition.
“I think we had a good Fall Season. For the varsity to win the Bart Granger in our first tournament was a tremendous success and probably the biggest regular-season victory Jesuit Golf has ever had. To beat 52 teams in the Bart Granger from all over the state, to be leading the entire tournament shooting low scores, and to win by 9 is outstanding. For the varsity to end with a win at Bear Creek in very cold weather against a field of good teams was a great way to end the Fall Season. Also, really great to see all the individual low scores the varsity shot throughout the Fall.” – Coach Marino
Looking Ahead Toward the Spring!
Our team’s recent accomplishments have built the needed momentum to tackle the tough competitions and districts next semester. They have shown just how one-of-a-kind our talent is this year, and I can’t wait to see how they utilize it in the spring.
