JV Cross Country Team Finish Season Off with a District Championship

Jesuit JV cross country team started the season with high expectations. Their biggest goal was to win the district meet. Their season was a full improvement by the JV runner as well as capturing win’s in many races they competed in. Let’s go over the JV cross country team’s fantastic season.

Luke Locker Relay

Junior Varsity’s first race of the season was a 6-mile relay at Norbuck. In groups of 4, there were two JVA teams and four JV b teams. Team leader Griffen for JVB#1 would finish with a team of 8:56 for 1.5 miles helping his team win first in the relay, also drew Lamberson would get a time of 8:54 helping his team reach second in the race.

Lovejoy XC Fall Festival

The JV team then goes to Myers Park in McKinney for their first 5k race of the season. Jesuit JV team would place 2nd in the race as a team with a score of 67. Senior Brody Pawsat finished as a top runner for Jesuit with a time of 19:22.05 placing 5 and close behind was Junior Griffen Fellow placing 6 with a time of 19:25.09.

Rick Neill Memorial Invitational

Jesuit JV team would then go to Lake Park Lewisville, Tx to the Rick Neill Memorial Invitational where they would have a dominating performance. They scored 25 points and won 1st in the race with top runner Jacob Ovenshire (Junior) grabbing 2nd with a time of 19:05.78, and Griffen Fellow placing 3rd with an improved time of 19:18.72.

Haltom Stampede Race 

Jesuit JV team then goes to FT. Worth at the Buff to compete at the Haltom Stampede Race placing 4th overall as a team with Brody Pawsat placing 8th with a time of 18:56.16 and Griffen Fellows placing 12th for the Rangers JV group with a time of 19:11.61.

McNeill Invitational

The JV #1 runners for Jesuit Dallas cross country team would travel all the way to Round Rock Texas for the McNeill Invitational. The JV team would place 2nd in the race with a score of 86. Top runner Jacob Ovenshire would be the top JV runner during the race, placing 12th in the race with a time of 18:40.1, and close behind him was Ethan Beyer coming in at 13th with a time of 18:41.9.

Lake Highland Invitational

Back in Dallas, the JV#2 runners stayed in Dallas to compete for the LakeHighland Invitational at Norbuck park. The team would place 5th in the race with a combined score of 131. Drew Lamberson would dominate the race placing 1st in the race with a time of 18:35.80.

Jesuit Classic XC

The JV team would then compete and host their largest race of the season at the Prestonwood Polo Club. The JV team would place 4th with a combined score of 128. The top JV runner for the Jesuit JV team was Jacob Ovenshire placing 14 with a time of 17:59.40, and James McKinney would place 26th in the race with a time of 18:25.20.

 

District 7-6A Championship

The final race for the JV team as a whole was at the Buff in FT. Worth, and it was the 6A district 7 championship race. Coach Robinson had high expectations to win the district championship for the JV team and they certainly fulfill those expectations. The Jesuit JV cross country team would win 1st in the race-winning it all for Jesuit. They would have a combined score of 34. Francisco Almaguer would win at winning first in the JV race with a time of 18:20.28, close behind him was Drew Lamberson placing 4th in the race with a time of 18:47.40.
