Jesuit JV Football Powers through J.J. Pearce

-

Once again stepping upon an unfamiliar field, the Jesuit JV Football team took on J.J. Pearce in a thrilling away game. At least, thrilling for Jesuit fans. Throughout the game, despite the fact the J.J. Pearce put up some points, the boys in blue and gold triumphed in a 37-28 smack down.

“This game proves that the boys have been responding to our training. We have now won the past four games, and this game makes me especially proud of the JV’s performance. Early on in the season, we came into our first game cold, because we didn’t have a warm up scrimmage. However, throughout the games the boys have played, they have clearly begun to recognize each other’s play style, and shut down on both defense and offense. Our defense has done a great job of shutting down the other team’s run game, which they have showed by shutting out at least 3 teams. And our offense has consistently put up points, so it’s going pretty well, and we expect to continue playing well.”- Coach Leal- Head JV Coach.

Not only the coach is satisfied with the performance, but some of the JV football players including Gus Walker. “ Because I was the eldest out of the JV players, I was kind of worried when some of the sophomores started coming in. But they have definitely proven themselves on the field. They learned the new plays really quick, and picked up on each other’s play styles quick too. Overall, I’m really proud of the JV’s performance and I think the Jesuit community can expect us to continue performing well.”

The Jesuit JV Football has made the Jesuit community very proud, and we hope they continue performing so well.

But we must remember, “Being humble is much more important than being successful. Because God doesn’t need a proud mouth that speaks, but a kind heart that listens.” – Unknown

Humbleness is largely what the Jesuit community is about, so let’s keep it that way.

Again, fantastic performance by the Jesuit JV Football against J.J. Pearce! Keep it up boys!
