With a big turnout, hosting a little over 1000 students, and a really fun outing for everybody, Homecoming was a success. Even if dancing is not for you, there were many alternatives, like hanging out in Xavier Mall or in the cafe where there were games and refreshments. There was also a photo booth that attracted much attention; many students loved this because of all of the different props you could pose with that made for silly pictures.
Mr Knize said, “I credit the student council for producing such a large event that offered something for everyone.” He continued, saying “the student council begins planning the party in the spring, and spends many hours in the fall semester gathering decorations and setting up the campus to host 
the event.” Mr. Knize also stressed that he loves hosting the homecoming dance because he gets to see all of his students outside of school having a great time with their fellow Jesuit brothers and their dates.
The student council also loves hosting events like these, knowing that they’re giving students an awesome night. Griffin Scott, the Junior Class President, said that “although we had to put in a lot of hard work and time to assure the dance ran smoothly, it was worth it in the end because everyone seemed to have a great time.” Every student council member had a specific role in making sure that the dance ran very smoothly, Griffin in particular helped with all of the Halloween decorations and setup.
Student Council were not the only ones to help set up for the dance, with many players from the Jesuit Varsity Football team helping out as well. Taylor Stine ’15, an all-District nose guard for the team, dedicated his Saturday morning to help with the dance setup. “I had fun setting up, I’m so used to being up at Jesuit that it is like a second home to me,” said Stine. He continued by saying that “it was actually pretty fun because there was a great group of guys helping out which made it entertaining.” After assisting with the setup, he also attended the dance, and explained that he had “a great time” doing so. His favorite part of the dance was seeing all of the different costumes. Stine also really appreciated the dance, explaining that “During the season, I have a one track mind: football, school, and senior service…This night allowed me to forget about all that and have fun with my fellow Jesuit brothers.”
Luke Kelley, a Jesuit junior, said that if he had to describe this dance in one word, it would be “unforgettable.” Elaborating, he said “At the dance, 
everybody was going crazy; the music was blasting and it was just all around a great experience. I am so excited for next year.”
Jack Durham, another junior, agreed that the Jesuit homecoming dance was a lot of fun. “The best part of the dance was by far the music. I had a really fun time jumping up and down during the techno music although it was really hot.” Like the rest of the juniors, Jack is very excited for next year because they will be able to dress up in costumes.
In the end, the 2014 Homecoming Dance was a huge success, providing a fun night for a variety of students with the multitude of things to do. Big thanks to the Jesuit staff and student council who did a great job putting on an awesome dance enjoyed by over 1000 students.
