Preview Day Through the Eyes of an 8th Grader

-

It is always a festive and eye-opening experience for 8th grade students this time of year.  On Sunday, November 14, 2010, Jesuit opened its doors and campus to eager 8th grade students and their families to share what the Jesuit experience is all about. Students throughout the Dallas area flocked to Jesuit with a multitude of questions in mind. Students and parents always learn a lot because of the various clubs, classes, and extracurricular activities that Jesuit has to offer. With a variety of what Jesuit has to offer in all these areas, no student will ever be left behind and will find their place at Jesuit. After talking to my classmates, I was able to get a better perspective of what people in the 8th grade thought about Jesuit. Billy Newman said, “I liked how the athletic director explained how Jesuit finds a sport for everyone to participate in,” while Joseph Gannon added, “I liked the positive energy.”  Clearly, this energy buzzed throughout the building, as  Parker Thompson noted that “The student ambassadors were helpful and informative and they all commented on being strongly interested next fall.” These are just a few of the comments that my classmates shared with me. As the touring concluded and Preview Day was coming to an end, students left Jesuit with one thought in mind: “Will I be part of the Jesuit class of 2015?”
