I know. It’s already Week 8? Crazy. You know what else is crazy? THE ENTIRE NFL. The Broncos beat the Chiefs, the 49ers have lost 3 straight, and the Panthers won a game? I don’t even know what to say…
The 49ers Might Not Win Their Division
Now this is a reach, especially since their only real competition has one of the toughest schedules after this week. However, the 49ers have really been struggling to get stuff going. And it’s not just Brock Purdy and the offense’s fault. The defense gave up 31 points to the Bengals. Now the Bengals offense is good, however, 31 points is still too many for a defense with no major injuries and a 2022 resume that looked very enticing as they led in points per game allowed and yards per game allowed. The impossible has been proven. The Niners have a weakness. Since their dominant win over the Dallas Cowboys, the Niners have lost 3 straight, and their golden boy Brock Purdy has looked more like Johnny Manziel than Tom Brady. So, the Seahawks could slip in and get some key wins to take the division over the 49ers. I mean, they already have a half game lead.
The Boys Are Back In Town
The Cowboys dominated the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, and really never gave them a chance. The defense didn’t do amazing, but it got some key plays such as a Micah Parsons sack and a Daron Bland pick 6. And the offense. The offense looked amazing. Dak threw for 4 touchdowns and 304 yards, but had an interception that was tipped at the line of scrimmage. However, aside from that, he looked amazing. And CeeDee Lamb had a career game with 12 receptions for 158 yards and 2 touchdowns. The offense was clicking, and the team has a good amount of momentum going into their week 9 matchup with division rival Philadelphia Eagles. Now, in order to contend with their fellow NFC East rival, they must win this game. Now, Dak Prescott is famously good while playing Philly, so hopefully that trend continues and the Cowboys get the dub.
The Chiefs need Taylor Swift
So far, the Chiefs are undefeated… in games that Taylor Swift shows up to. So, the Chiefs need to sign her to a long-term extension. These day long contracts are not gonna work for the two parties. At least sign her through next year if you want to be competitive. It’s common sense.Â

The Mayo Man is Good?
For those who don’t know, the Mayo Man is Will Levis. Will Levis was drafted in the second round by the Tennessee Titans. He was projected to be a top 15 draft pick but he fell all the way to the second round. Also, there were plenty of memes about him eating bananas with the peel and putting mayo in his coffee (although that probably didn’t have much to do with why he fell so far in the draft). Anyway, he finally got a chance to show what he can do against the Atlanta Falcons. Well, he threw for 4 touchdowns, 3 to DeAndre Hopkins. He also played a Thursday Night Football game against the Steelers, and even though he didn’t do so well, he looked calm and collected when under center. Will Levis could prove everybody wrong and play like a good quarterback. And honestly, the competition in his quarterback room is wide open for him to take over.Â
The Vikings season is OVER
Honestly, the injury to Justin Jefferson hurts the Vikings, but I think Kirk Cousin’s injury is much more brutal to the Vikings. With Justin Jefferson this year, the Vikes have gone 1-4, including a 0-3 start. However, without him, they are 3-0, and they had a chance at the postseason. Now, Kirk Cousins tore his achilles which means he is out for the year. This hurts the Vikings at an astronomical level. Kirk has been a consistent passer for them, and without him, there is no one to carry this offense. What, are they gonna cruise to the playoffs with veteran Joshua Dobbs or rookie Jaren Hall under center? I think not. Vikings fans, get ready for the high draft pick.
Everyone can celebrate that football is here, except Vikings fans (I don’t even know what to say). So there you have it. Five takeaways from the eighth week (already???) of the NFL season. How will these hold up during the season? I have no clue. But I guess we’ll find out. And yes, this conclusion is copied and pasted from my NFL Week 1 Overreactions: Being Way Too Conclusive article.
