Six More Athletes Join a Class of 14 College Signees

-

On Thursday, February 5, Jesuit Athletics participated in its Winter Signing Ceremony. At this event, six seniors signed their commitments to play collegiate athletics as family, friends, and coaches huddled together in support. The grit and dedication of these seniors was made apparent throughout the morning, and the ceremony served as a major event for their careers. As these six Ranger Recruits put pen to paper, they joined a class of already eight Rangers signing to play in college, now totaling 14.

Ceremony

The event began with the gathering of family, friends, students, and coaches in the Terry Center, eager to commemorate the signing of these six athletes. Balloons, pictures, bright colors, and other decorations were sprawled throughout six tables in the Terry Center, each one dedicated to its prospective student-athlete, and families and friends gathered around the tables of those whom they came to support. Additionally, the back of the Terry Center was filled with an assortment of pastries for spectators to snack on as they waited for the ceremony to commence.

Before calling up each athlete to the signing table, Athletic Director Kyle Herrema gave a short speech congratulating the outstanding achievements of these hard-working men.

Now was the moment that everyone had been waiting for. One-by-one, each athlete made their way to the signing table at the front of the Terry Center, putting pen to paper on their official commitments to play collegiate athletics.

Final Thoughts

The outstanding work of these six Rangers, as well as the eight who preceded them back in November, is something to be commemorated. However, it wasn’t just raw talent that helped them in their successes. These athletes have put in years of dedication, motivation, and grit to get them to where they are today.
