On October 11th, the top ten players on the Jesuit Rangers drove down to Houston with Coach Wainwright to take on the other Jesuit, Strake Jesuit. This was a new matchup, as in previous years, the tennis team had never devoted a day to driving down to Houston and playing Strake.

The match concluded with a final score of 5 to 10, leaving Strake victorious. Luke Nettune spoke on how he felt following the match saying:
“I felt like overall we played well as a team and fought hard in the face of stiff competition”
While Strake Jesuit is deemed one of the strongest tennis teams in Houston, the Rangers have high hopes for the future of the tennis team and hope to come back even stronger next year. Coach Wainwright offered some positive feedback in anticipation for next years rematch:
“While we came away with a loss, there were many good matches with teaching moments in order for us to better ourselves. This will not only help us when we play them next year, but it will help us as we move into our Spring season.”
