After a respective 6-2 start to district play, Jesuit Basketball continues its triumph through the second half of the season.
MacArthur
After previously beating MacArthur 68-47, Jesuit had a relatively quiet first quarter, scoring only 8 to MacArthur’s 11. But in the second, the Rangers found a new gear, scoring 25 to MacArthur’s 10, creating a secure lead of 33 to 21 at halftime. Jesuit held this lead throughout the game, scoring 15 in the 3rd and 22 in the 4th, reaching a final score of 70-52.
Notable Performance: Michael Grant ’25 scored 18 points and secured 8 rebounds.
Irving
Previously securing a win, 69-37, the Rangers faced off against Irving again. Jesuit started fast, scoring 26 to Irving’s 15 in the first quarter. Ending the game, Jesuit managed to maintain the lead, scoring 11 in the 2nd, 20 in the 3rd, and 16 in the 4th, securing a 73-56 victory.

Notable Performances: Caleb Steger ’25 scored 24 points, Tre Mergerson ’24 secured 8 rebounds, and Justin Kemp ’24 recorded 5 assists.
Lake Highlands
Initially beating Lake Highlands early in the season, the Rangers, in their second meeting with Lake Highlands, lost 51-62. Lake Highlands took a healthy lead in the first, recording 21 points to Jesuit’s 12. Ending the half, Jesuit narrows Lake Highlands lead to only 6, scoring 15 to Lake Highlands’ 12 in the 2nd quarter. In the second half, Jesuit found points difficult, only scoring 4 in the 3rd quarter, but they later adjusted and managed to score 20 in the 4th. Unfortunately, the Rangers would fall short.
Notable Performance: Michael Grant ’25 scored 20 points and secured 8 rebounds.
J.J. Pearce
After previously dominating J.J. Pearce, the Rangers would do no different, winning 47-28 in their second meeting. The Rangers dominated entirely through the game, outscoring J.J. Pearce each quarter except one, which finished tied.
Notable Performance: Caleb Steger ’25 finished with 14 points, 12 rebounds, and 4 assists.
Berkner
After previously beating Berkner 69-59, the Rangers would host their Senior Night against Berkner in their second meeting of the season. No different than their first meeting, the Rangers would dominate, winning 64-51.
Notable Performances: Caleb Steger ’25 scored 16 points, Tre Mergerson ’24 secured 9 rebounds, and Michael Grant ’25 recorded 8 assists.
Nimitz
The Rangers, in their second meeting with Nimitz, dominated entirely. Outscoring Nimitz every quarter, the Rangers won with a whopping score of 81-33.

Notable Performances: Hank Gramlich ’24 recorded 7 assists, and Caleb Steger ’25 scored 21 points and secured 10 rebounds.
Highland Park
After a previous loss to Highland Park, the Rangers would fight for revenge in a tight rivalry game. Unfortunately, the Rangers lost 44-47 in a competitive match.
Notable Performances: Tre Mergerson ’24 secured 6 rebounds, and Hank Gramlich ’24 scored 11 points and recorded 4 assists.
Richardson
Finishing their last game of districts, the Rangers faced Richardson. Previously losing by 1 point, the Rangers fought hard but fell short with a final score of 62-67.

Notable Performances: Caleb Steger ’25 recorded 4 assists, and Michael Grant ’25 scored 20 points and recorded 10 rebounds.
