Beginning on April 4 several days were spent schoolwide studying apartheid in South Africa. Activities included film, literature, athletics, art, and a panel discussion led by Mr. Mike Speer, Social Studies department. Guest speakers were the Rev. John Goliath, Anglian priest; Rev. Carmen Mele, Director of Parish Justice Ministries, Ft. Worth; Dr. Richard Allen, professor AMU; Rev. Peter Johnson, Director of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference; Mrs. Helen Boujour, Mobil Oil; Rev. Stephen Ching, Methodist minister; and Mr. Anthony Bruyn, Capital Plan and resident of South Africa for 11 years The idea was planned and implemented by the committee of Mr. David McGowan, English Department; and Ms. Gretchen Haviland, Art Department, Mr. Mike Speer, Social Studies Department, and Sheryl Row, English Department.
