On Thursday the 10th of October, the Jesuit Rangers took on their third in-district opponent, Lake Highlands. This was a highly anticipated game given the competitiveness of the previous weeks game against J.J Pearce, who also presented a challenge to Lake Highland’s team in week one of conference play. The Wildcats maintained strong control and possession of the ball with powerful offensive plays combined with a strong defense that challenged the Rangers. Jesuit lost the match 10-38.
Offense
Senior quarterback Charlie Peters led the offense against this tough opponent, he successfully completed 15 passes for 211 yards. Notable performances in this game include junior Beck Berry with five receptions for 75 yards, leading the Rangers in reception yards. Defense
Jesuit’s defense struggled against the strong and explosive offense of Lake Highlands. Lake Highlands remains one of if not the best offense in the district and are currently undefeated in conference. Senior Jack McGoldrick made ten tackles, leading the offense. Senior Robert Prager and junior Parker Sherman both took on nine tackles, while seniors Julien Bird, Cason Clarke and junior Gabriel James each made eight. Senior Jack Philips and junior Tanner Krug both made one tackle. The Rangers did not necessarily play bad, but it was the overwhelming speed and precision of Lake Highlands that proved fatal.
