Men’s Chorus Members Earn spots in All-Region and are Moving on to All-State Competition

-

This school year kicked off with an extraordinary opportunity for the 2024-2025 Jesuit Men’s Chorus. They became trailblazers, taking part in the Texas Private School Music Educators Association All-State/Region competition, a historic moment for the Jesuit Men’s Chorus and the Jesuit institution as a whole.

Competing for chairs, essentially your rank in UIL choir competition, members of the Jesuit Men’s Chorus recently auditioned for the Texas Private School Music Educators Association All-State/Region competition, and five of the chorus’s talented singers have earned spots in the All-Region Choir. Notably, Gabriel Miller achieved a first-place finish in his category! As a part of the Texas Private School Music Educators Association, these singers now have the opportunity to perform alongside other top singers from the greater Dallas area in a concert scheduled for January 11. The location is still to be determined but it will certainly be a night to remember for all the students participating.

If you see the following members of the Men’s Chorus make sure to congratulate them for their extraordinary accomplishments and wish them the best as they advance to the All-State round of competition. They are listed below by voice part and chair (rank).

Tenor 1

Alan Ramirez 26’ – 7th Chair

Leonardo Ramirez 25’ – 11th Chair

Tenor 2

Gabriel Miller 26’ – 1st Chair

Miller ’26 had this to say about his experience:

“I’m incredibly excited to receive the honor of first chair as second tenor in the regionals. I’m incredibly thankful for Mr. Crownover and my friends, who’ve encouraged me to practice and perform at the best of my ability. I’m also very excited to be one of the singers representing Jesuit, and I can’t wait to see how this experience pans out!” – Gabriel Miller ’26

Bass 2

Abram Hunt 26’ – 6th Chair

Trey Massey 28’ – 8th Chair

Qualifying for all-region advances them to the all-state round of adjudication to be matched up against the best private school vocalist in Texas. Judging for all-state choir takes place on Monday Nov 4th with results becoming final 72 hours after the conclusion of adjudication.

Stay tuned to The Roundup to stay posted on any students who qualify for All-State!
