Jesuit kicked off the soccer season by going 2-0-1 in their first three games and winning the Meintser Tournament in those three games. With this hot start to soccer, the team’s potential for the remainder of the season looks strong, working to make it to the Playoffs and hopefully go on a hot run to become contenders for the Division II State title.
Vs. Trinity Christian Academy
Jesuit kicked off the tournament and their season with a 2-0 victory vs. Trinity Christian Academy (TCA). Jesuit didn’t allow a single shot to TCA while having 13 shots. Cooper McGough ’26 scored both goals for Jesuit, one in the first half and one in the second. His first goal was assisted by Henry King ’27 and Zane Roland ’27, while his second goal was unassisted.

Vs. Bryan Adams
Jesuit had a close game with Bryan Adams, with the final after two halves being a tie 1-1. However, Jesuit won penalty kicks 5-3. The one goal scored during regular time was by Ben Norman ’28, also assisted by Zane Roland. The five penalty kick goals came from Cooper McGough, Zane Roland, Corbyn Wendorf ’26, Luca Shipley ’26, and Christian Bilger ’26. Jesuit had 13 shots, eight on goal, and Bryan Adams had six shots, three on goal. Jesuit would then advance to the final vs. Prosper after this tie.

Title Game Vs. Prosper
Jesuit closed out the Meintser Tournament as champions, defeating Prosper 2-0. The first goal from Jesuit came from Cooper McGough, which was a penalty kick. Then, the second goal came from Mason Farley ’27, assisted by Zane Roland and Luca Shipley. Jesuit had 12 shots and seven on goal, while Prosper had six shots and two on goal.

Conclusion
Jesuit had a very strong three games and have a multitude of trends to keep up with like Zane Roland’s point streak, Cooper McGough’s scoring streak, and how the Jesuit defense only allowed 12 total shots, while having 38 shots on offense. They will definitely be a top team as the season goes on, and hopefully contenders for the State Championships!
