Following a decisive win against Irving, hopes were high for the Rangers’ performance against J.J Pearce. However, J.J Pearce, who proved themselves as worthy contenders with their performance against Lake Highlands, maintained their composure and fought hard in our recent game. Jesuit took an early lead yet Pearce came back strong in the second half. The fierce effort given by both teams led to a match that came down to the four quarter showdown, the game was decided by a Pearce touchdown with 38 seconds remaining for a score of 42-48. The Rangers are now 1-1 in conference play with a highly-anticipated game against Lake Highlands on Thursday the 10th of October.
Offense
This game was a competitive matchup of two strong offences, spearheaded by Jesuit QB Charlie Peters and Pearce’s Presley Harper. Peters established Jesuit’s quick offensive pace, successfully completing 25 passes with a total of 276 yards and two touchdowns. Impressively, in his first game back from injury, Henry Bourret scored a touchdown and caught three receptions for 22 yards. Other notable performances include touchdowns from Blake Bodnar and Jaeger Krauss, and Harlan Beucler’s three receptions for 94 yards. Demonstrating his continued success, kicker Noah McGough made all six of his extra point attempts.

Defense
With our defense putting up just as ferocious of a fight as our offense, the Rangers had some standout performances. Cade Gill led the team with 13 tackles and a forced fumble, following Gill was Julien Bird with 12 tackles. Kane Murray and Gabriel James both recovered fumbles providing key setups for the offense. Similarly, Robert Prager caught a crucial interception late in the 4th quarter to halt the momentum of Pearce.
