On Saturday August 31, 2024, Mr. Fitzsimmons passed away at the age of 66 years old. Mr. Fitzsimmons- a husband, father, and grandfather- was an integral part of the Jesuit community.

Graduating from Jesuit Dallas in 1976, Mr. Fitzsimmons would later return to his alma matter where he worked at Jesuit for over 35 years, serving in roles such as  coach and counselor, administrator and teacher.

One of Mr. Fitzsimmons’ most recognizable qualities is how he exemplified being a ‘man for others’ towards family, friends, faculty, and students.

“I had two brothers: one was my brother who passed away years ago and my other brother was Jack Fitzsimmons. We were together since 1980. I was with Jack before he got married, his first child, and the rest of his kids. His family is a part of my family. When you say how can I encapsulate 40 years of being with my brother, it is hard to do that, but I would say that he was one of the most generous and loving people I have had the privilege of knowing in my life. He was the type of friend who knew all of your faults and still loved you.”
