The road to a district championship in Texas UIL 6A is not one for the weary or unprepared. While not every week is a key game or rivalry, when chasing a district championship each week demands dedication and execution. After a spectacular defensive showing against Irving MacArthur, our Rangers were looking forward to another dominant performance in district play against Irving Nimitz.

1st Half

The Rangers kicked off the game with an 11 play drive resulting in a Robert Fitzgerald Touchdown. Following this 12 seconds later with another Robert Fitzgerald rushing touchdown. This frenzy would be followed by an impressive 9 play, 85 yard drive with a Roy to Musso connection for the score. This explosive showing by the Jesuit offense . Fitzgerald would take another trip to the end zone with a 25 yard touchdown run. Nimitz would find minimal success on big passing plays resulting in 2 touchdowns in the first half. The first half would end 28-14 Jesuit.

2nd Half

The Jesuit defense came out for blood in the second half shutting out the Vikings and putting an exclamation mark on the night. The Krepp to Roy connection has been a familiar sight for Jesuit fans all throughout the last 2 seasons and this would continue tonight. Krepp reeled in a 55 yard bomb straight to the crib and would tally another receiving touchdown making the score 42-14 Jesuit. Senior running back Ryan Wombacher would power in another touchdown to make the final score 49-14 Jesuit.

Recap

The Ranger offense led by captains Gage Roy and Matt Craycraft bulldozed Nimitz, going for 544 total yards. Defensively, the Rangers limited the Vikings offense to a mere 9 first downs and 195 total yards. Senior QB Gage Roy threw for a season high of 298 yards along with 3 passing touchdowns. Krepp put on a receiving clinic as he came down with 10 receptions for 208 yards and 2 touchdowns. Senior linebacker David Long put up 15 tackles along with a sack and TFL in an impressive performance. Senior Fitzgerald continued his dominant season with 130 yards rushing, 3 rushing touchdowns, and 4 tackles. The Rangers are rolling this time of the year and looking to secure their first district championship since 2016.
