Jesuit Student Council Logo (Jesuit Dallas)

Every year Jesuit Dallas practices the democratic processes in choosing the leaders of our school. The students picked represent a trust from the general student body to serve them well and positively change the school. While other elections are held in the spring prior to the new school year, freshman elections are held in the fall in order to allow freshman to truly get to know and meet with each candidate in order to make a well-informed decision on who they want representing them. Meet your freshman candidates below:

Hunter Hagen

I should be elected for Student Council because I am selfless and focus on others, not just try to benefit myself with the privileges that come with the position. I am currently on the JV Jesuit wrestling team, representing Jesuit at competitions. If I were to be elected, I would push for the students who are not in positions of leadership to have a voice. A very important trait that I have that would make me a good leader is that I am very empathetic. Ever since I was a little boy, my dad has drilled into me the importance of being an empathetic person. I do not have a hard time relating to other people’s emotions. Another trait that makes me a good leader is that I have integrity. I am honest and I do my
absolute best to never lie. A good leader should always tell the truth and be honest with other people. I think I would make a good leader because I am selfless and put others   myself. A good leader can never be selfish. If I were to be elected, I will put other people’s needs before my own the basis of being a man for others.

Shaurya Patel

I am running for Student Council with the intention of giving back to my school, and helping fellow students. The school gives me a lot and I would love the opportunity to help my peers and contribute to the school environment. I represent my school by consistently striving to fulfill the graduate profiles and actively participating in multiple extracurricular groups. I plan to contribute to the Student Council by focusing on student morale and the well-being of each student. Jesuit is a second home to me and many of my peers, and a big part of a home is feeling safe, comfortable, and happy. I believe that you can facilitate this environment in multiple ways, like making each student feel heard and represented, or
adding activities and making events more fun. Student life can sometimes be hard and stressful, and I would like to combat that and make high school a memorable experience for everyone. One leadership quality I possess is that I am dedicated. My dedication is seen not only through my academic achievements, but also outside the classroom as I am actively engaged in multiple extracurricular activities at Jesuit. I can follow through with anything I put my mind to, and I work hard to achieve my goals. Another leadership quality I possess is that I am supportive.

Tyler Ezetendu

I am passionate about serving our school and making a positive impact. I am running for Student Council because I believe that true leadership requires empathy, dedication, and the drive to foster change.

As a current member of Hope Squad, I am actively involved in promoting mental health awareness and suicide prevention, which has taught me the value of compassion, listening, and creating a supportive community. I am dedicated to making Jesuit a school where everyone feels valued, safe, and included.

In previous years, I served as a class representative in both 6th and 7th grades and led the recycling committee in 7th grade. By 8th grade, I took on the role of class president, alongside responsibilities as both class representative and head of the recycling committee. Through these roles, I’ve learned the power of taking initiative and how small actions can create lasting change.

If elected, I will focus on making Jesuit a more inclusive, supportive, and environmentally conscious school. My goals include strengthening mental health resources, expanding recycling initiatives, and organizing events that promote unity and open communication.

I am confident that my experience, empathy, and dedication will allow me to represent our class of 2028 and the entire school thoughtfully and effectively while exemplifying our motto of Men for Others. I am excited for the opportunity to contribute to a stronger, more connected Jesuit community; it would be an honor to serve. Thank you for your support!

Sean Boltin

I am so glad to have met so many great people and made some amazing friends during my time at Jesuit so far. If I have not had the chance to meet you yet this year, I hope that we can meet soon.

I believe I should be elected as a Class Officer for Student Council because I am a strong leader. A strong leader should be a good communicator, confident, resilient, courageous, creative, and must have integrity. If you asked the people closest to me, they would tell you how I am every one of the things that a strong leader should be. I am also qualified for the position of being a Student Council Officer, at my previous school I was a part of student council for two years. In my 7th grade year, I was the class representative and in my 8th grade year, I was the Student Body President.

Jesuit is already such an amazing place, and being inclusive is something that is very important to me, so if elected I would like to continue building our brotherhood in a way that brings us all closer together.

I represent Jesuit by being involved in many extracurriculars. I am a part of The Roundup, Jesuit Ranger Sports Network, Yearbook, and play football and baseball. While I am currently involved in those extracurriculars, I am honored to receive your vote for me to be a part of something great that is Jesuit Student Council.

Nicholas Carter

I believe I will be adequate for a position in the student council, based on previous experiences where I have been greatly impacted not just an individual, but impacted a big group of people in a positive way. As someone who has previously run for a position on the student council, I know the importance of listening to the people around me and including those who may not be heard. I actively represent whenever I attend daily sports practice and at social events.  Jesuit’s pillars have become a part of my daily lifestyle. For example, open to growth, I am willing to admit that I am not the smartest person, nor the most physically fit person, in recognizing this I open myself to as many possible opportunities in
which I can grow. To continue to grow and improve Jesuit where I can, I would like to make a difference by being aware of the communities around us, and providing outreach to those. Doing this will allow for a strong diverse environment.

As a leader I recognize, as well as possess the traits of, responsibility as well as commitment. I hold the trait of responsibility, meaning that if something goes wrong I am willing to take the consequence of it and learn on how to improve on the next time. Transitioning to commitment, If I say I will fix an issue I will ensure to fix it as quickly as well as efficiently as possible, which is able to have the effect of not just putting half effort, but full effort.

Carson Wang

I’m excited to be a candidate for student council. I believe I can bring positive change to our school and truly represent the voice of our student body.

I am a dedicated member of our community who cares deeply about making Jesuit the best it can be. I believe that every student has unique perspectives and ideas that can contribute to our school, and as your representative, I will ensure that these voices are heard and valued.

Currently, I am involved in soccer and the Asian Student Union, where I engage with students from diverse backgrounds. I have several ideas that will enhance our school culture. I would like to promote more student-led events that cater to a variety of interests.

I am observant, open-minded, and responsible. A good leader not only takes charge but listens and collaborates with others. I thrive in group settings and enjoy working collaboratively to find solutions. I also have great time management and organization skills.

In conclusion, I am committed to representing you all to the best of my ability. If elected, I will work hard to ensure your voices are heard, your ideas are implemented, and Jesuit is a place where everyone feels valued and included. Together, we can create a vibrant school community that we are all proud to be a part of every day.

Keshav Giridhar

I believe I should be elected to the Student Council because of my commitment to Jesuit. Through my participation in a variety of clubs and organizations, I have developed the skills necessary to represent my peers effectively. I am a member of the Jesuit Debate Team, where I’ve honed my communication skills that enable me to express people’s ideas effectively as a public speaker. As a writer for Jesuit Roundup, I’ve worked to help foster ideas of the collective by being able to express people’s ideas effectively through writing. I’m also involved in the Jesuit Ursuline Ranger Band and the Jesuit Swimming and Dive Team, where I’ve learned the importance of teamwork and discipline. On top of this, I am also part of Ahobila Mutt, a Hindu organization that provides service opportunities in Dallas.

Currently, I represent Jesuit by actively participating in both academic and extracurricular activities and always striving to be a positive role model. I’m dedicated to our school’s mission of forming “Men for Others”  through the qualities of a Jesuit Graduate.

If elected, I plan to improve Jesuit by creating opportunities for greater student involvement, fostering inclusivity, and enhancing our current service opportunities. My leadership experience, organizational skills, and dedication to serving others make me the perfect candidate to represent my class and contribute to the success of the Student Council as well as the Class of 2028, Go Rangers!

This amazing community has inspired me to step out of my comfort zone, grow as a person, and give back by running for student council. Jesuit has taught me to embrace leadership in a meaningful way. I am reliable. When I make a commitment, I always follow through and give my best on everything I attach my name to, especially when others are depending on me. I’m humble. I always look for ways to help and serve, and never ask anything of others that I’m not going to work on myself. I’m collaborative. Working with and for others excites and brings out the best in me as my humility allows me to be an open and supportive listener.

Being a member of Jesuit’s Crew Team and Student Leader of Jesuit’s first Novelist Club are testimonies to my commitment, humility, and dedication. Above all, I am compassionate. I care about the struggles and needs of those around me. It brings me joy to help, uplift, and encourage the people in my life. I want to strengthen connections between students, create opportunities for collaboration, and make sure every voice is heard. I want to be a figure to represent our freshman class, and hopefully become an example of how this amazing school can change your life. This is how I strive to improve the already
amazing community that I am now a part of every day.

Sebastian Dunn

Leadership, in my life, has taken on many forms. At times, it has been in my words, like getting the basketball team to focus and run a play I designed. Other times, my leadership is shown in actions, by putting in the work on the football field, and showing others what it’s like to practice at a high intensity. In Student Council at St. Thomas, however, I exhibited leadership in a way that most don’t recognize, and that is by listening. So from being a verbal leader, to demonstrating it in my daily life, and finally listening to the students, I can bring all of those assets to Jesuit’s Student Council.

Currently playing football, and being part of the Entrepreneurship Club, and being part of the Sports Broadcasting Department, all show different aspects of diversity at Jesuit as well as skills I possess. From athletics, to academics, to communication skills, I am working on all different aspects of leadership that Jesuit has to offer. With that broad understanding, I am hopeful to help contribute to Jesuit’s already outstanding service to our class. Improvement will come in the form of being the voice, and listening to
the students and communicating to administration. From my speaking skills, to my listening skills, along with my diverse experiences at Jesuit, I am hopeful that all of those pieces, that can make a good leader, will help me in leading the Jesuit Freshman class.

John Andrews

If elected as a Student Council representative, I will serve the class of 2028 as a voice for the people, striving to help maintain and improve the powerful and loving community of Jesuit. I will do that by working hard and improving the student community, looking for ways to help people.

I wear my Jesuit title with pride, trying to embody being a man for others, whether in school, with my friends and family, or on the field. Through my experiences with Jesuit football and lacrosse, and with my teachers and friends, I have learned the value of being committed and a hard worker. If elected, I will apply these skills and put my time and effort into helping others.

If elected, I will work towards helping Jesuit students follow God’s path and help instate lifelong values that will help students throughout their high school careers and lives. I will help promote inclusivity by encouraging and informing freshmen on how to join and get involved in clubs.

Lastly, I possess the leadership qualities that qualify me to represent the class, of experience, having a previous leadership role in middle school and working closely with the faculty and students; integrity, by choosing to do the right thing and putting others’ needs before my own; and faith, in trusting God in knowing he will help guide me and the school and keep us loving.

Riley Gerard

I feel I should be elected because I pride myself in being a leader and man for others. Currently an important part of my life is listening to others, and hearing their message. Furthermore, if I was elected into Student Council, I would be able to listen to more members of our class. I would advocate for issues that are important in our community, that need to be heard, to help make Jesuit a better and more unified place. Having a relationship with the majority of our class would help me advocate for our
class. These qualities I possess help me believe that I would be an amazing fit for Student Council. I currently represent Jesuit by my involvement in the Entrepreneurship Club and Real Estate Club. I am also a member of the freshman basketball team.

This exposure to these different elements of our school help me to learn and represent our
school and community. If I was lucky enough to be elected, my plans to improve Jesuit would be to have our class be more supportive of each other in activities representing the school. My qualities of leadership are my listening skills, ability to take charge, fighting for others, and my humility. These qualities and plans I have for Jesuit will provide the foundation for making Jesuit a better place.

Oscar Gooden

I’m running for the 24’- 25’ Student Council as a Freshman representative. I believe that I possess many qualities of a leader that separate me from my peers. To me, a leader means having confidence, resilience, integrity, and empathy. I do my best to reflect those qualities throughout my everyday life, whether it’s in the classroom, on the track, or when nobody’s looking. I take pride in being a Ranger, and want to do everything I can to be involved and uphold Jesuit’s high standards. Currently, I represent Jesuit as a Hope Squad member and a Cross Country/ Track athlete. I am honored to be a part of these organizations, and I am ready to take on more leadership roles. One way I would improve Jesuit is by helping inactive students get involved and give them the opportunity to experience the brotherhood of being a part of a team or a club. Another way I would lead the freshman class is by representing and giving my fellow classmates a voice. I care so much for my place at Jesuit, and I want to make the most of my four years here and leave a legacy for future generations. I should be elected because of my investment and passion that I will put into being a part of the Student Council. I promise to put my very best into everything that I do and keep an open vision for the future of Jesuit.

Joseph Bui

Good afternoon. My name is Joseph Bui and I am running for Student Council because I wish to lead Jesuit Dallas towards a stronger community bolstering the values of commitment and catering to improved extracurricular involvement and build upon Jesuit’s current events suggested by you.

I exhibit responsible and active management all around, clear communication among my peers, and strong integrity through my extracurricular involvement.

Currently, I represent Jesuit Dallas as an up and coming debater, co-programmer for the robotics team, part of the Medical Society, Mu Alpha Theta through math competitions, Coding club, Jesuit Musicians Union, and the Roundup. I have won two novice debate competitions earning second speaker award in my first tournament and showing strong analytical thinking, and actively participated in developing effective communication in Robotics. I am involved in writing for the Roundup and joined multiple math and science clubs expressing commitment in curiosity and service to my community.

Previously in middle school, I had served as Secretary of my school, participating in open houses and guidance, and I served my community outside of school by playing the piano for senior homes. I best fit for the Student Council position because I represent commitment and care for my community in unity and student life.

Throughout these activities, I recognize leadership not only as strong commitment and care, but also most importantly a striving towards spiritual bonding and effective management, true men for others. I possess and strive to form these qualities for Jesuit Dallas in the student council through you, the voters. Thank you.

Francis Munyambu

I should be elected because I can accurately determine what changes my class wants to make Jesuit a better place. I know many people in my class, and even more people know me, so I can ask everybody I know for feedback about how to improve Jesuit to identify and prioritize recurring issues more accurately to make Jesuit a better place.

Some leadership qualities I possess are the ability to prioritize, empathize, organize, and to interact with others in a positive and friendly manner.

I represent my school by being a part of extracurricular activities, such as JURB (Jesuit Ursuline Ranger Band), Debate, Black Student Union (BSU), Mu Alpha Theta, Underground Music Club, and Real Estate Club. Another way I represent my school is by embodying each of the Jesuit Tenants in my everyday life. Regarding Jesuit, I think it is doing excellent regarding facility upkeep, faculty, religious aspects, and the educational curriculum. Rather, I would like to improve those aspects of Jesuit.

Porter Pope

I should be elected to represent the Class of 2028. Not only am I a great listener, an advocate for all, and hardworking, I bring experience.  As a member of my 7 th and 8 th grade Student Councils, I valued communication and collaboration with my classmates. In 8th grade, I was voted Student Body President. I worked with administrators, and valued each grade level’s voices. This reflects my ability to advocate for peers, desire for inclusiveness, importance of communication, and being an active listener, all-important traits in a student council representative.

I embody the six parts of the Jesuit Profile. I look for new and challenging ideas allowing me to see things in different ways. I am intellectually competent and passionate about discovering new things about myself and the world. I am committed to working for justice for all and eager to find opportunities to serve others. My Catholic faith is my guide in everything I do. I hope to spread the greatness of the Lord, and serve Him through love, leadership and support. I honor and take care of my body to make it strong and healthy. I find common ground with people from all walks of life and believe everyone has something to bring to the table. If chosen to represent the class of 2028, I will listen, invite, value, and respect all our classmates and help us grow into even stronger men, Men for Others.
