Jesuit Dallas’ wrestling season started off a bit shaky due to some illness but has since picked up some great wins. So far, the Rangers have a split record from their two duals so far. They have also placed 20th and 8th in the first two tournaments.

Jesuit v. McKinney Boyd

Jesuit suffered a tough loss at home against McKinney Boyd on November 9th. In the dual, Jesuit racked up six individual wins. Senior Michael Geary ’23 scored a victory with a pin in the 175-pound weight class. Other varsity wins by a pin included Timmy Keyes ’24 at the 120-pound weight class, Spencer Broussard ’24 at the 126-pound weight class, An-Jie Kryger ’24 at the 150-pound weight class, and Oliver Collins ’24 at the 157-pound weight class. Jake Daboub ’25 also won by a 3-point margin giving a regular decision victory. In the end though, Jesuit came up short losing 48-33 overall.

Arlington Invitational

Jesuit had a few wrestlers excel in the tournament on November 12th, especially on the JV side. Matt Dietsch ’23 got 1st place in JV, while Jake Daboub and Nicholas Westerhide both placed second. Bringing home a 3rd place finish were Kingston Stephens, Alex Shomin, and Nate Salvia.

For varsity, Jesuit was only able to finish in 20th place but An-Jie Kryger made his way to a 3rd-place match, placing in the 150-pound weight class.

Richardson Round-Up

On November 19th, Jesuit wrestling put up a valiant performance, placing 8th overall with several wrestlers making it to the podium on an individual basis.

Timmy Keyes secured a second-place finish in the 120-pound weight class, while Michael Geary fought his way through three victories, finishing in third place in the 175-pound weight class. Also placing in their respective weight classes were Alexander Menard at 132 pounds and Jackson Chesney at 285 pounds.

Additionally, Kingston Stevens, Alex Shomin, and Nicholas Westerhide all finished first in their weight classes for JV.

Richardson v. Jesuit

I feel proud of our performance so far, and I have seen the improvement in each team member. I also feel that we have the best lineup we’ve had in a while, and with that, I feel that our team has the ability to be winning our duels and placing people in tournaments. – Matt Dietsch 23′

Continuing this winning spirit, Jesuit picked up a 48-28 team victory in their dual against Richardson on November 30th.

Eight of Jesuit’s varsity wrestlers secured victories during the dual. Owen White won with a regular decision in the 113-pound weight class, while Alex Lizardi ’23 won by 10-3 for a regular decision victory in his weight class. Also finishing with pins were Timmy Keyes, An-Jie Kryger, Oliver Collins, Dolen Hedrick, Michael Geary, and Jackson Chesney.
