The Jesuit Dallas Hockey team secured their 5th consecutive state title. Through immense dedication, the Jesuit Dallas Hockey attend will attend nationals in Minnesota from March 23-27, 2023. Facing off against Allen and Strake Jesuit, the Rangers came out 3-0 this weekend.

Allen Eagles (January 24, 2023)
Starting the State tournament strong, the Rangers defeated the Allen Eagles 7 to 2. Initially thrown back, the Allen Eagles started with a quick strike, moving up by one. Then Jesuit relentlessly tore apart the Allen Eagle, scoring seven straight. Scorers include Jack Bowdich ’24, Danny Myung ’25, Travis Hogan ’25, Ryan Virkar ’23, Kyle Hogan ’23, and William Sahadevan ’23.
Strake Jesuit (January 28, 2023)
Quickly wiping out Strake Jesuit, the Jesuit Dallas hockey team won 11-1. Scorers include Danny Myung ’25, Travis Hogan ’25, William Hubbell ’26, Kyle Hogan ’23, Mitchel Zenick ’25, and Chris Sweda ’23.
State Championship Game (January 29, 2023)
The highly anticipated Championship game between Jesuit Dallas and Strake Jesuit remained close. The final score was 3 to 2, but the back-and-forth play made it an incredibly entertaining game.
Strake took an early lead off the puck drop, scoring two unanswered goals. But, late in the first period, Jesuit Dallas rallies, and Conner Sugrue ’24 scores, assisted by Travis Hogan ’25, making it a one-goal game. Late in the second period, captain Kyle Hogan ’23 buries a goal, assisted by Ryan Virkar ’23 and Conner Sugrue ’24, tying the game at two a piece. Late in the third period, looking for a game-winner, Conor Parro ’25 scores a clutch goal in the final minute, assisted by Wade Bryan ’26 and Danny Myung ’25.

This newly action-packed rivalry between Jesuit Dallas and Strake Jesuit proved an entertaining State Championship, but Jesuit Dallas came out on top. Jesuit Dallas will end their impressive season following the 2023 High School Hockey Nationals in Minnesota.
