Many flocked to their local Gamestop or Walmart on November 5, in search of one thing, the next Call of Duty game. Call of Duty: Ghosts was recently released on the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii and all PC computers and the game has sold briskly in this short period of time. Infinity Ward solely developed the latest in the Call of Duty series, while in the last game, Modern Warfare 3, Sledgehammer Games helped in the development.
The storyline in Call of Duty: Ghosts unfolds well and provides a challenging realism that is still fun to play. The gameplay, however, feels more and more like the Battlefield games with each new game and in this game that is still true. In the beginning of the story, you really feel like an astronaut flying through space. The storyline is fun though and will definitely suck you in until you feel like you just can’t get away from the TV screen.
The graphics in Ghosts are a lot better than the graphics in MW3, the sheer detail in the work on each individual is astounding. Facial definition has improved so that everything looks more realistic and much more human. This detail can be seen everywhere and just makes the game that much more enjoyable to play. Infinity Ward improved the graphics by updating their old engine substantially, allowing them to create a better image and a better product.
Multiplayer, the main reason why people get on games, allows you to play with your friends or other players competitively. The multiplayer in this game is the best part, no question about that. The gun selection is superb and the maps are intricately made, so that the gameplay experience is just plain fun. This multiplayer is the best it’s been since Modern Warfare 2, which had another great multiplayer option.
Overall this game is actually very good, the campaign was enjoyable, the graphics were nice and the multiplayer was exceptional. If I were to give this game a rating out of 10 it would merit a 9, just because it goes back to the old COD games or “the glory days.” The strong multiplayer which the COD franchise was built upon makes a strong reappearance in Call of Duty: Ghosts and that is why I suggest everyone should get the new game.
