Defeated by St. Mary's 13-0 in the Cotton Bowl. Paid St. Mary's $300 to come to Dallas. Financial loss about $150. Later, on November 1, Jesuit paid St. Edwards of Texarkana $175 guarantee and lost about $150. However, Jesuit defeated St. Edwards 32-6.

Ed Maher (first lay faculty member ‘42) gave the football team its nickname “Rangers”; he once lived in the city of Ranger, Texas and liked the town.
First undefeated football season – 7 victories, 1 tie

Jesuit’s Rangers boarded a chartered airliner at Love Field for Rochester, N.Y. where they will meet Aquinas High in an intersectional schoolboy football game; 25 men made the trip. They lost the game 46-7.
J. D. Roberts is elected best lineman by both Associated and United Press.

A brief dedication ceremony preceded the game. Fr. John Edwards, S. J. presented a plaque to the Haggars from the Province. Only one side of the stadium has been built.
