The highlight of many seniors’s final years, prom, is looking to be nothing less than spectacular, with a multitude of exciting attractions that will surely bring hundreds dressed in tuxedos and fancy dresses to the World Trade Center in Dallas this April 28th.
Featured in the gigantic World Trade Center, which rises fifteen stories, this year’s prom will be held in one of the largest venues ever and feature a throwback theme- in more ways than one.
First off, the Jesuit prom planning committee decided to bring back DJ Spenca, who worked the Salvation Army’s 80s rave a couple years ago. This year’s theme is Greece, a throwback in its own right.
Although the head man behind this year’s prom, Tim Nguyen ’12, acknowledged that students shouldn’t expect “too many Greek decorations,” that’s only because the committee planning the prom took out the extra money to rent “a really nice sound system with sound engineering–” a major plus for all music lovers.
And while the decorations and theme, as decided by the Ursuline community, might be a little lacking, Nguyen assured everyone that the Greek cuisine would be nothing less than luscious. And after looking at the menu- which includes a traditional Ceasar Salad to start, followed by a pan-roasted garlic and rosemary chicken breast for the entrée along with a side of farfalle with scallops, asparagus, tomatoes and pancetta- it’s hard to disagree.
Student council president Tim Nguyen, the student council, the Ursuline community and English teacher and student council moderator Mr. Colin Hanley spearheaded the planning. The dance, which lasts from 6-11 in the evening, looks to be so exciting and entertaining for the full four hours that students probably won’t want to leave.
But the number of tickets is limited, so go to http://www.jesuitcp.org/page.aspx?pid=784&frsid=3 to purchase your tickets before the April 24th deadline for the reasonable price of $50, which includes dinner. And for those who want to sit with ten friends of their choice, the seating request form is due at the Jesuit front desk no later than Friday, April 20th. Don’t miss it!
