The annual Jesuit Dallas culmination of homecoming week took place on Oct 25th. Ranger Day, one of the most anticipated days of the school year, is the day students from Ursuline and Jesuit get to dress up, gather for a plethora of games, watch the Powder Puff Game, and root for their home rooms of past and present in the anticipated Chariot Race.
Powder Puff Game, Ranger Games, and Pep Rally
Starting off this awaited day, students packed into the gym, ready for the interclass competitions. Commencing with the stampede of costumed seniors, the pep rally had 4 main competitions: football one on ones, dodgeball, a three-point contest, and a competition to see which grade could perform the Jesuit yell the loudest. In the end, the Seniors took the win along with Ranger Day glory.
Thanks to the staff and student council, Ranger Day was complemented by a variety of student lead games, including Spike ball, cornhole, kickball, and dodgeball. Furthermore, thanks to many of the coaches, students enjoyed soccer and ultimate frisbee at the Dove Fieldhouse.
One of the other main events of Ranger Day is the Powder Puff Football Game. In this game, Ursuline juniors and seniors take their positions on the field, coached by the best of Jesuit. Through tainted by many interceptions and fumbles, the Ursuline seniors were able to string together two touchdowns with their conversions, while also holding back the juniors. At the end of the game, the scoreboard read 14 – 0 in favor of the seniors, an impressive win.

Chariot Race
Excited for the concluding activity of Ranger Day, Ursuline and Jesuit Students alike filed into the football stadium, waiting for the Chariot Races to commence. Each team consists of selected people from each freshman homeroom pulling a themed chariot and a brave senior. This is the culminating event of the Big Brother Cup, a competition between the Big Brother (A mentoring group aimed at demonstrating Jesuit’s Core Principles) and designated freshman homerooms. In the end, Mr. Berry’s homeroom won for a second time, dominating the competition on the track. In an unexpected turn of events, Mr. Berry’s homeroom also came from behind to win the entirety of the Big Brother Cup after lagging behind for much of the competition.

Final Thoughts
Students and faculty agree this was a memorable Ranger Day, with great school spirit, exciting competition, and brotherhood flourishing. Congratulations to Mr. Berry and his homeroom, and a special thanks to student council and the faculty that helped make this great day.
