The Jesuit Investment Club is excited to announce a new student-led investment fund. This initiative is monumental for the club, giving students real-world application within the world of investing. This is a big step for fostering the future of smart and effective investors.
Turning Ideas Into Action
In late March 2025, an idea began circulating within the Jesuit Investment Club: what if students could manage a real fund, applying their skills to live markets while building something lasting for the school community? Over the next several months, leaders Walker Heartfield ’26 and Nathan Long ’26 drafted an outline, collaborated with Jesuit CFO Mr. Alex Soich, and worked with legal counsel to create a policy document that would bring the vision to life. After careful revisions and planning through the summer, the Jesuit Dallas Investment Club Fund officially launched on September 3, 2025. This student-led initiative marks a major milestone for the club, giving members not only the chance to invest but also to learn, collaborate, and leave behind a legacy rooted in both financial skill and Jesuit values.

Learning by Doing
The fund’s purpose is education, values, and legacy. Members will gain hands-on experience through researching companies, analyzing markets, and pitching investment ideas. As the fund grows, the club hopes to establish a sustainable, student-led portfolio with hopes that it will not only outperform the market but also serve as a tradition for future Jesuit Investment Club students.
The structure of the fund mirrors a professional investment team. An Executive Board oversees operations, while members conduct research and present investment pitches. Final investment decisions are determined by the Investment Club Leadership through a committee vote. The club focuses primarily on equities and ETFs, using both fundamental and technical analysis to evaluate opportunities, with performance tracked weekly against benchmarks such as the S&P 500 and NASDAQ 100.
Faith in Finance
At the heart of the Jesuit Dallas Investment Club Fund is a commitment to Jesuit values. Every investment decision is made with integrity, responsibility, and an awareness of social impact. Members are encouraged not only to consider financial returns but also the ethical implications of their choices, reflecting the school’s mission of forming men for others. By combining financial education with moral responsibility, the fund ensures that students learn to view investing as more than profit. Through this initiative, the Investment Club hopes to build the future of thoughtful and righteous investors.
It’s more than just an opportunity to invest – it’s a hands-on way to learn, collaborate, and grow together as investors and leaders, leaving behind a legacy that future Jesuit students can carry forward.” – Heartfield & Long – 2025
