At Jesuit, college sports are always the topic of conversation. Therefore, it was only a matter of time before we had a club about it.

What is the College Sports Club?

The College Sports Club is about well, College Sports. It varies from college sports history to current events. The club engages in debates on current college football teams, players, and events. Additionally, analyze and predict playoff outcomes, rankings, and the significant games of the week. At meetings, they do Kahoots on college sports history, engage in one-on-one debates, and give their biggest hot takes. The club is headed by Co-presidents Ethan Mejia ’26 and Andrew Benyo ’26, along with Vice President Miles Jameson ’26. Benyo serves as the director of analytics and Jameson serves as Director of Communications. Mr. Clarke Wood, who teaches US history, is the moderator.

“We wanted to create a club that is all about uniting fans, learning about college football, and sharing our passion for it; celebrating every touchdown and Texas loss together.” President/Founder, Andrew Benyo

How Did the Club Get Started?

The story of the club’s founding it told by President Ethan Mejia ’26:

“The College Sports Club was founded during a meeting in the junior commons where we gathered while waiting for the University of Kansas representative. In order to strengthen our college applications, we then realized the importance of either joining or establishing a club. Inspired by the start of the college football season, which was generating a lot of buzz, we initially proposed creating a football club. As interest grew, we expanded the idea to encompass all college sports, ultimately forming the College Sports Club. We started the idea of a college football club since the season had just started and it was a big topic, as well as a passion for all of us.”
