Concert or Costume Party? Jesuit Upperclassmen Homecoming

-

With music blasting, and the Terry Center’s floor shaking, Homecoming made its mark this year. Homecoming had some high expectations to fulfill and with its relaxing and fun atmosphere, I would say it did. This years’ junior and senior Jesuit-Ursuline homecoming was hosted in Jesuit’s Terry Center, Xavier Mall and Cafeteria.

This year homecoming fell a week earlier yet it was still marked with brisk autumn weather. Although no slight of the cold could deter the energy, if anything it rejuvenated students from the packed and stuffed climate in the Terry center’s mosh pit. Luke Deshotels ’25 thought that

“Sitting outside in Xavier Mall was very refreshing, it was a break from the heat and dancing inside and a nice place to relax for a few minutes.”

For the junior class this was their first homecoming hosted at Jesuit, and for the seniors, their last. The mix of suits and costumes was an interesting blend. The bar for costumes was high, yet definitely met by the seniors. Seeing some of the hilarious and ingenious couple and group costumes was definitely a highlight of my night. Winn Moore ’25 said that

“Not only was the moshpit and music great, but I loved the costumes and can’t wait for next year”

A reprieve from the energy of the dance floor in the Terry Center, the cafeteria was a scene reminiscent of casino night. Students huddled around blackjack tables trying their luck, others simply sat and enjoyed the food and refreshments available. Theodore Walker ’25 enjoyed the games and said that

“The dealer at my table was great and helped us learn how to play”

Overall the night was a great success, the music and atmosphere was perfect and the performance of students was commended by staff as students were well-behaved, following and exceeding the standards set for them.
