After struggling out of the gate, Jesuit Hockey found its stride picking up wins against Frisco East, Flower Mound/Marcus, and Frisco West. The team’s impressive performance from the past three weeks has catapulted the team from 5th to 3rd place in the Varsity Gold standings. With the 4th win, Jesuit Hockey reaches a record of 4-3-0.
Frisco East
After a dominant win over Flower Mound/Marcus, Jesuit was hungry for their second win of the season. Kyle Hogan ’23 started the scoring with a power play goal off of a feed from Aden Zirogiannis and Will Hubbell ’26 to give the Rangers a 1-0 lead. Frisco East quickly found the equalizer with only 1:16 left in the first period. During a hard-fought second period, the Jesuit penalty-killing squad neutralized two Frisco East power play opportunities to keep the game tied. With one second left in the period, the tie was broken by a buzzer-beater slapshot from the blue line by Chris Sweda ’23. The last-second goal by Sweda proved to be enough for a Ranger win as the third period expired without a goal. This 2-1 win over the 2nd place Frisco East proved that the Jesuit Rangers could compete with any team in the league.

Flower Mound/Marcus
The relentless offensive attack by the Rangers paved the way for their dominant 7-0 win over Flower Mound/Marcus. After a low-scoring win over Frisco East, the Rangers flashed their offensive potential by putting up 7 goals in a game. Despite the heavy scoring, the Rangers showed no weakness on defense. Aden Zirogiannas stopped all 37 shots he faced in his second shutout of the season. Jesuit goal scorers included Wade Bryan ’26, Will Hubbell 26, Kyle Hogan ’23, Gage Gutierrez ’25, Andrew Theisen ’25, and Jackson Deininger ’24. The special team’s effort was on full display as the Rangers scored on both power plays and even scored shorthanded. Additionally, the penalty-killing unit defended two opposing power plays to keep Flower Mound/Marcus scoreless.
This was the second win for the Rangers over Flower Mound/Marcus this season. They will look to sweep the series in their final matchup on January 19th.
Frisco West
Last season, Frisco West caused frequent problems for the Rangers as they swept the season series. In their first matchup of the season, Frisco West put up a convincing 3-0 win. However, this did not deter the Rangers in the slightest.
After going down 1-0 early, goals from Ryan Virkar ’23, Conor Parro ’25, and Gage Gutierrez ’25 put the Rangers up 3-1 at the end of the first period. Despite Frisco West’s comeback efforts, goals from Kyle Hogan ’23 and Travis Hogan ’25 sealed the game. The Rangers peppered Frisco West with shots, outshooting them 44-21 in the 5-3 win. This marked the fourth straight win for the team, allowing them to break .500 for the first time this season.

Conclusion
Before arriving in D.C. to play in a Thanksgiving tournament, Jesuit Hockey will play league games against McKinney and Keller. The Rangers will look to rebound from their heartbreaking 5-4 loss against McKinney early in the season. In D.C, the team will face off against some of the top hockey teams from Maryland and Virginia. After an impressive win streak, the Rangers are on a roll as they enter the middle of the season. They look to win a 5th straight State championship and the Varsity Gold championship.
