Proceeding off my previous masterpiece about the Dallas Cowboys 8-week recap, I present the next 10 weeks including the postseason Wild Card playoff game.
Denver Broncos vs Dallas Cowboys
Coming off a six-game win streak, the Cowboys came into this contest with confidence through the roof with a home game against the 5-4 Denver Broncos. Everyone thought this would be a blowout going the Cowboy’s way but fans were wrong.
Teddy Bridgewater and his Broncos would show up to play like none other and drop 30 points to take down the Cowboy’s fantastic winning streak. The Broncos lead would turn to 30-0 heading into the fourth with two meaningless Cowboys touchdowns to close out the game. The Cowboys were 0 and 4 on first downs and the run offense was absolutely atrocious against Denver’s dominant defense.
Atlanta Falcons vs Dallas Cowboys
Now, this is one of the blue stars’ best games of the season with an outstanding score of 43-3 with the offense putting up mad numbers and yards. Prescott threw for two touchdowns to the beloved OU representative CeeDee Lamb, Ezekiel Elliott scored twice as well and Nahshon Wright recovered a blocked punt in the end zone to put the birds in the dirt.
The defense absolutely blew Matt Ryan and Cordarelle Patterson out of the water. Dallas left at halftime with a score of 36-3. Matt Ryan was struggling immensely throwing two INT’s to none other than the football magnet Trevon Diggs to give him eight for the season. Matt Ryan left with 117 yards and Dak Prescott with 296 yards one of his best games.
Dallas Cowboys vs Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs coming off of a rough start to the season with Patrick Mahomes and the defense failing to meet their standards against other teams came out with a 19-9 dub against the 7-3 Cowboys which became a horrendous game for both of the teams. Kicker Greg Zuerlein was the only offensive asset during this game scoring all nine points.
The Cowboys could not put a point on the board with Dak Prescott only throwing for 216 yards and two interceptions. The Cowboys also had to deal with the downsides of absences of Tyron Smith with an ankle injury, Amari Cooper testing positive for COVID-19 and entering the NFL’s health and safety Protocols, and twin wide-receiver CeeDee Lamb suffered a concussion leading before halftime, as well as Ezekiel Elliott injuring his ankle early on during the game and finishing with a whopping 32 yards rushing.
Las Vegas Raiders vs Dallas Cowboys
One of the Cowboy’s many Thanksgiving games ended with an overtime thriller that came down to the last marble. Anthony Brown drew the ire of Cowboys fans for his many mistakes, especially for the game-deciding pass interference call that he forced on Raiders receiver Zay Jones putting the opposing team in field goal range allowing Daniel Carlson to seal the game for the Raiders with a 29-yard field goal ending the Raiders three-game losing streak.
Penalties were an extreme detriment to the Cowboys in this one, as they committed a season-high 14 penalties for a total of 166 yards as well as the Raiders with 14 penalties for a total of 110 yards. Mike McCarthy was immensely angered at the exceedingly heavy amount of penalties, and rightfully so, saying, “Twenty-eight penalties, I don’t know what the hell you want me to say,” Dallas coach Mike McCarthy said. “Write what you want. I’m all for it.”
The offense was a key factor in this competition for both teams with a final score of 36-33 Las Vegas. Dak Prescott had an outstanding day with a total of 375 yards and 209 in the fourth quarter alone. Dallas was still struggling without key players Amari Cooper, CeeDee Lamb, and Ezekiel Elliott, but it gave Cowboys fans hope that even without those players they can still compete with other teams.
Dallas Cowboys vs New Orleans Saints
The Dallas defense came to play lifting their team to a victory over a struggling Saints offense. Even with Mike McCarthy out due to the infamous virus, defensive coordinator Dan Quinn stepped in as the main boss of the team and led the Boys to a 27-17 win over dual-threat Taysom Hill and his squad.
Dak Prescott threw for 238 yards and an incredible 1-yard touchdown to injury relieved Michael Gallup. The Cowboys’ recent swoon of horrible contests was resurrected by CeeDee Lamb finally returning with 122 receiving yards and Tony Pollard ripping off a 58-yard touchdown run, all while the Dallas defense earned a gold star by capturing four interceptions off of Hill with three in the fourth quarter. Dan Quinn had this to say after the beat down, “I love doing hard things with a group of people and this was one of those moments,” a gratified Quinn said. “We wanted to make sure Mike and all the guys that we missed, that we got their back. I didn’t want to let them down.”
Dallas Cowboys vs Washington Redskins
Dallas came through in this game with a crazy 22 points in the first half holding Washington hostage to a giant goose egg. Dallas then began to lose their lead in the second half when Taylor Heinicke was replaced by Kyle Allen and off the rip taught the hopeless team to a 73-yard TD drive. Although Allen was moving mad for his first time on the grass this season he butchered the comeback by fumbling the ball with 2:24 remaining on the clock. Dallas forced four turnovers and five sacks.
The first-round pick from Penn State Micah Parsons went off this competition with many sacks, tackles, and forced fumbles including a forced fumble that had Doran Armstrong recover and return for a 37-yard touchdown. Prescott was 23 of 39 for 211 yards. The Cowboys would go on to win with a score of 27-20.
Dallas Cowboys vs New York Giants
The Cowboys on the third consecutive road game would dominate 21-6 over a struggling New York Giants squad. It’s been said that defense wins championships and that just might be the case with how well the blue star’s defense is performing. Dallas forced another 4 turnovers against Mike Glennon with one being Trevon Diggs’s 10th interception of the season. Greg Zuerlein played a huge factor with three fields goals for nine points Prescott finished 28 of 37 for 217 yards
The Giants struggled heavily with not scoring once and Graham Gano scoring all six points for the pathetic team. Mike Glennon would go on to through three picks to the white jerseys. The Cowboys never trailed at all this game continuing to a strange record of 10-4 in the season one of their best years since Tony Romo.
Washington Redskins vs Dallas Cowboys
The outstanding 11-4 Dallas Cowboys would have a second opportunity to receive a free win which exactly happened with a definition of 56-14 with 42 points in the first half. Prescott threw for FOUR touchdowns D-Law returned an interception for a quick six and the Cowboys eventually celebrated their accomplishment of receiving the division crown. Prescott had touchdown tosses to running back Ezekiel Elliott, tight end Dalton Shultz, receiver Amari Cooper, and even a backup offensive tackle Terance Steele who went lined up as tight end.
Taylor Heinicke finally made his return against Dallas, but instantly gave up Diggs’s 11th interception on the first offensive play for Washington. Dallas pushed off heavily from that miraculous start with an astounding 389 yards before halftime with Dak finishing 22 for 25 all in the first half; a pure distinction of how the Mississippi State quarterback is tolerated in Dallas despite his recent mistakes. The most impressive play of the game according to the team was Demarcus Lawrence’s pick-six.
Arizona Cardinals vs Dallas Cowboys
Arizona came down to Dallas to battle it out on who would become the better seed in the playoffs and they did just that. Arizona clutched the game to a score of 25-22 with Kyler Murray scrambling around the defense effortlessly with his rare speed. Murray the Allen Texas High School represent threw two touchdown passes to receiver Antoine Wesley finishing 26 for 38 for 263 yards to carry the dub for Arizona.
Dallas was rough in the run game with Ezekiel Elliott possessing 16 yards. Dak Prescott on the other hand threw three touchdown passes; a 4-yarder to Amari Cooper, one to Cedrick Wilson, and a 21-yarder to Michael Gallup who unfortunately suffered a left leg injury during the catch ruling him out for the season with an apparent injury to his anterior cruciate ligament. The Cowboys came to blows with a whopping 10 penalties submitting 88 yards in Arizona’s favor. The Cowboys had inducted themselves into the penalty committee.
Dallas Cowboys vs Philadelphia Eagles
The Cowboys coming off a letdown of a week against Arizona brought the heat to Philadelphia and proved their point that they are the best team in the NFC East. Dallas brought the whole squad today 10 in the first quarter, 20 in the second, and 21 in the fourth holding Philly to 26 for a final of 51-26. Prescott held 5 throwing touchdowns to his name two balls to Cedrick Wilson and dos to Dalton Schultz. Dak finished 21 of 27 for 295 yards and no interceptions. The offensive line is definitely receiving presents this year from their quarterback for leaving him unscathed during the game.
Starting quarterback Jalen Hurts got the night off to prepare for the playoffs and gave the lead role to Gardner Minshew a loveable aspect to the Philly team. The Eagles did not treat this game as a must-win since they were automatically in the playoffs but Minshew Mania occurred producing a few touchdowns. Philly concluded with 149 rushing yards to close out their regular season.
San Francisco 49ers vs Dallas Cowboys
Ah, the Cowboys have finally reached the playoffs. Their last appearance was in 2018 with Tony Romo as the quarterback. The Cowboys went to the second round but lost to the Rams by eight to end Romo’s career as a Cowboy. The Cowboys would meet San Francisco in the Wild Card Playoff game in a battle on who would advance to the next round. Jimmy Garoppolo and the 49ers were chaotic in the first half as well as Deebo Samuel who ran comfortably for a 26-yard touchdown to put the red and gold on the board first following Robbie Gould’s field goals. Prescott was 23 of 43 for 254 yards Prescott also ran for a touchdown to get Dallas back in the game nearing halftime, but it was just not enough because of the vast amount of penalties the Cowboys had left on the field (14) which exposed them as the most penalized team in the league for individual games.
This contest became insanely controversial among NFL fans all over the nation with San Francisco suffering from a false start with less than 2 minutes left in the game giving Dallas another opportunity to bounce back and possibly score to win the game. The Cowboys started at their 20 with 32 seconds to go and flipped the switch giving Cowboys fans hope. Cedrick Wilson unexpectedly pitched the ball to CeeDee Lamb on a hook-and-ladder play for 20 yards, and Dalton Schultz gained 9 yards before getting out of bounds with 14 seconds remaining. Here comes the disappointing portion of the Cowboys season with Prescott taking off on a designed run and sliding at the end of a 17-yard run, with about eight seconds to go when ref Ramon George bumped Prescott trying to set the spot. In NFL rules the referee is required to touch the ball before the center hikes the ball in order to properly place the ball where it lies. The snap from the San Francisco 24 came after the clock expired leaving everyone in the stadium in awe. This right here was the end of the Cowboys remarkable season finishing with a 12-6 record.
