Over the past few seasons, each team has developed its own distinct personality, and this year’s team feels familiar in the best way. Since walking through the doors as freshmen, the Class of 2027 has often been described as a reflection of the Class of 2024, a talented group known not only for its success in the pool, but also for leading with enthusiasm, inclusivity, and the ability to inspire those around them. Now, as seniors leading the 2026-27 season, they are determined to set the tone by fostering a team culture built on hard work, camaraderie and the positive energy that has come to define their class.

Set the Standard
Eleven seniors in total will represent Jesuit Swimming and Diving, embracing this theme: Set the Standard. The theme grew out of the captains’ first meeting, when one of the coaches emphasized a straightforward expectation: when you show up, you work hard, stay focused and make a positive impact on those around you. That message immediately resonated with the seniors and was met with enthusiastic agreement.
From that moment on, they knew exactly how they wanted to approach the year: positively, intentionally and with a commitment to ‘setting the standard’ for those who would follow. What went unsaid but became understood was that this would be a year where every lane mattered, and this responsibility would be shared by every senior to help create, model and carry the team culture.

As part of the vision for this season, the team is committed to supporting one another, working hard together and responding to challenges with character. This team will not be built on selfish drive; rather, it will be built on a commitment to making the whole of itself better. This year, the team will not be defined by what happened last season or by what others predict will happen this season, but by the choices they make each day. The ultimate goal is to leave behind a standard of effort and brotherhood that lasts long after the final race.
Built on Experience
The team will feature a strong class of returning seniors, juniors and sophomores who all showcase great talent, excitement and leadership. As they continue to grow, these upperclassmen will also take on a new role: serving as mentors and role models for a new group of freshmen entering the program.

As history has a way of repeating itself, the mirror image mentioned earlier appears again with the Class of 2030. This new group features another large class of talented athletes, already making an impression with their enthusiasm, talent and team-first mentality. They have entered the season hungry for success and are eager to make their mark on the team. The season is here, and there is a whole lot of racing ahead.

Looking Ahead
As the team finishes its preseason training, they will participate in a practice meet against Bishop Lynch at the Gull. The kickoff to the season will begin with the Rangers Relays Invitational, bringing several schools from across the DFW Metroplex. A long-standing Jesuit tradition, the Ranger Relays enters its second year at the Gull and continues to draw a packed crowd. Following Ranger Relays, Jesuit will face off against several competitive opponents, giving the team valuable opportunities to build momentum and sharpen their racing skills as they head into the regular season.
