Jesuit Dallas Honors Graduating Students at the 2026 Senior Convocation

-

Each year, Jesuit Dallas hosts an awards ceremony for each grade of the grade levels, honoring the dedication of Jesuit students finishing yet another year. On May 8, 2026, Jesuit Dallas began this annual tradition of celebration by commemorating the senior class. As students of all grade levels settled down in the Terry Center, Principal Tom Garrison took the stage to welcome everyone to this wonderful occasion. After a cross, a flag, and the entire Senior Class processed in, Father Sylvester Tan, S.J. said a prayer and Seniors Abram Hunt ’26, Mathias Espinoza ’26, Alan Ramirez ’26, Gabriel Miller ’26, and Landon Brecheen ’26 sang the Alma Mater to begin the ceremony.

“I think singing the Alma Mater one last time was bittersweet. While I’m sad that convocation was my final time to sing it, I’m happy with the memories I’ve made as not only a member of the chorus but also as a student at Jesuit. The Alma Mater represents what this school means to me and how I spent my years at the school.” – Abram Hunt ’26

Military Appointments

Four Jesuit seniors were recognized for their planned commitment to pursue military service to our nation. Whether they were appointed to a military academy to earn their bachelor’s degree or have earned a Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) Scholarship, these students will represent Jesuit Dallas as they serve our nation in the military.

Bryce Patterson ’26 will be attending the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.

Cayden Bartusek ’26 will be attending the US Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Nate Sabogal ’26 will be attending the US Merchant Marine Academy (Coast Guard) in Kingspoint, New York.

Luke Patterson ’26 has earned a four-year Air Force ROTC scholarship to attend Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana

“The convocation was a special event for the class of 26. It was nice to end the semester on a note of joy. I am so grateful for the brothers in my class, and this event was a perfect celebration of our many accomplishments. I would like to congratulate each of my classmates and brothers on the awards they received. Personally, it was an honor to receive my AFROTC scholarship in that way. I am excited for what the next chapter of my education brings and look forward to additional celebration at graduation.” – Luke Patterson ’26

“I am so proud of you Lucas for your commitment to serving others. You are truly special and I hope you continue doing good deeds in the future.” – Mother of Lucas Cruz ’26

The Jesuit Man for Others Award is voted upon by Jesuit’s faculty and is given each year to students who exemplify in their words and actions what it means to be a Jesuit student who has moved beyond himself. The recipients of the Men for Others Award were Ethan Irrobali ’26, West Rogers ’26, and Sebastian Suwanda ’26.

“It was very unexpected, yet very nice to win the Man for Others award. While it came at such a surprise, it felt very meaningful, and I am thankful to everybody who nominated me for this award, especially the teachers.” – West Rogers ’26

The JSN says that “this award is to be presented to the member of the graduating class who, as a man for others, models the ideal profile of a graduate of Jesuit education. He is a well-rounded person who is intellectually competent, open to growth, religious, loving, and committed to doing justice in generous service to the people of God.” For his excellent representation of Jesuit Dallas, the Jesuit Schools Network Award was presented to Noah Zafereo ’26.

This award is given to the graduating senior who was judged to be the most representative of Jesuit Dallas College Preparatory School and most responsive to the school’s influence. For his scholastic achievement, character, leadership, participation in extracurricular activities, and service on behalf of Jesuit Dallas to the wider community, the Bishop Lynch Award for outstanding achievement is awarded to Grant Bomersbach ’26.

“Jesuit is such a special place and my time here has changed how I see the world. I’ll never be able to pay back the Jesuit community for all it has done for me, but I’m grateful for the recognition and fortunate to be able to represent such an amazing institution, and an amazing senior class.” – Grant Bomersbach ’26
