Jesuit Football Faces Adversity in First District Loss vs. Lake Highlands

With both teams having undefeated District records, Jesuit and Lake Highlands clashed on Jesuit’s Senior Night, October 10, 2025, in which Lake Highlands came out on top 52-21.

Summary 

In the first quarter, Lake Highlands jumped out to an early 14-0 with both a passing and rushing touchdown. Jesuit would respond with a Beck Berry ’26 73-yard touchdown pass to Shane Parker ’26, but with a blocked PAT from Lake Highlands, the score was 14-6 Lake Highlands. Jesuit and Lake Highlands would exchange rushing touchdown drives with a Beck Berry one-yard rushing touchdown and a Lake Highlands 63-yard touchdown. However, Lake Highlands would add to their lead with a 52-yard passing touchdown to make the score 28-14. Lake Highlands would proceed to score two more touchdowns and with a Beck Berry 21-yard touchdown pass to Cade Kirby ’26, the score was 42-21 at half. After a two-yard touchdown and a field goal from Lake Highlands in the second half, the final score ended up being 52-21.

Offensive Stats

Jesuit’s offense produced 235 yards of offense compared to Lake Highlands’ 445 yards of offense. Beck Berry went 13-26 (50% completion rate), with two touchdowns and zero interceptions in one of his best games of the season. Shane Parker led the team with 82 receiving yards and a touchdown on two receptions. Corson Lindley ’28 trailed behind with 52 receiving yards on three receptions. Cade Kirby also tallied on a touchdown for Jesuit, with 41 receiving yards on four receptions. On the ground, Shane Parker led the team in rushing yards with 16 on six attempts, with Lucas Mayer ’26 earning 15 rushing yards on four attempts.

Defensive Stats

Jesuit’s defense was able to produce a turnover through a forced fumble by Gabriel James ’26, which was recovered by Ben Phillips ’27 in the forth quarter. Tackling wise, Cabe Weissmueller ’26 led the team with nine (five solo and four assisted), and Gabriel James had one less at eight (two solo and six assisted). Joe Norman ’26 had Jesuit’s sole tackle for a loss (one yard loss), as well as five tackles including the one for a loss (Norman had three solo tackles and two assisted).

Conclusion 

Jesuit continues their District play with a matchup vs. Irving MacArthur on Thursday, 10/16 at Joy and Ralph Ellis Stadium. Afterwards, they will head back home to Ranger Stadium to face Richardson for their Homecoming game. Come out and support your Rangers!
