The Underclassmen Homecoming Dance, one of the most anticipated dances of the year, took place on October 18, 2025, at Ursuline. At Homecoming, Students danced, chatted with their peers, and even played games.
Activities
Due to inclement weather, Homecoming took place inside Ursuline’s two gyms and the hallway between both of those gyms instead of being outside. When you walked in, there was a big Homecoming sign to your right with cups of water for those who were thirsty. If you continued walking to the right, you would find yourself in the practice gym where there were disco lights and a DJ where you could dance to different songs.

In the main gym, there was spike ball, cornhole, poker tables, and bleachers where people sat down to relax and talk with friends. In the hallway between the two gyms, there was a place where you could take photos and eat snacks. Lastly, if you decided to go outside, there was a Kona Ice truck that you could purchase snow cones from. People also sat or stood outside and socialized.
Student’s Thoughts
I asked one sophomore and one freshman about their experience at Homecoming. Sophomore Miguel Alvarez ‘28 had this to say:
“It is always great to spend time with my Jesuit brothers at hoco.”
Additionally, I asked Roland Escobar ‘29, about his first ever homecoming. He said:
“I felt community build every time a new song played, when we DANCED, I never wanted to stop, and an absolute amazing way to enjoy my first hoco”
Final Thoughts
Homecoming is one of the best dances/events that high schools across the nation do. Being able to dance and socialize with your friends creates a fun and unforgettable night. Additionally, you get to meet new people who could potentially be with you throughout your lifetime, even out of high school and college. Despite the bad weather, the Homecoming dance was still an enjoyable and memorable time to be had with friends.
