New Jesuit Graduate Program!

-

Jesuit is known for attracting students and faculty all over the metroplex to come and study or teach here. While it is widely discussed how well Jesuit treats its students, the faculty are hardly ever talked about.

This new opportunity, for a graduate degree through Saint Louis University, really portrays how well Jesuit takes care of its faculty. Just recently, Jesuit has introduced a new program through Saint Louis University granting graduate school degrees in the educational field. This program is groundbreaking because it will really allow the Jesuit faculty, as well as faculty all over the metroplex, to be able to continue their education locally through a Jesuit school.

President Mike Earsing discussed the program saying that he had the idea for it while at a conference in New York City. “It was nice to go to Lincoln Center obviously but it was even nicer having a university [Fordham] to go there and work with, it was a nice synergy. We don’t have that in Dallas and that’s something thats always been on my mind as far as how do I do that and create that kind of synergy.”

Ideally, this new partnership will help create a type of synergy by giving teachers the ability to earn graduate degrees in education here in Dallas. Thankfully, The Roundup was able to interview not only a particpant of the program, Mr. Hanley, but also the creator and President of Jesuit, Mr. Earsing.
