FIFA Tourney Preview

-

Members of the Pro-Life Club want to visit our nation’s capital, but need your help to get them there. On Thursday, December 15, 2011, after the final exams, the Pro-Life Club will be holding a FIFA ’12 XBOX 360 tournament to raise money for the trip.

In order for this fundraiser to be true to its name, the Pro-Life Club currently asks players to pay a five dollar entrance fee.  The winner of the tournament earns a $50 gift card to Best Buy and the second place winner receives a $25 gift card to Best Buy. If a student loses a round and wants to play in the tournament again, they are eligible to play as long as they pay a $3 re-entrance fee.

Members of the club along with the advisors, theology teachers Jude Harrington and Terry Maclellan, will travel to Washington D.C in January for the Pro-Life March. What awaits the Pro-Life Club will probably be a very chilly march!

Like most school events, Jesuit will pay for this trip, but the Pro-Life Club is making an effort to reimburse the school for its expenses. “Over the next few months,” says Jordan Tobolka ’13, “the Pro-Life Club will hold a few more fundraisers in order to raise the money to pay the school back.” Come support your fellow students on their mission by participating in the FIFA tournament next Thursday after the exams.

Justin enjoys writing for the school paper because he likes staying caught up with current events around school and the community as well as learning about different people when he goes to interview them. You can find out a lot more about a person if you just dig a little deeper. In his spare time, he enjoys playing with his two dogs and golden retriever puppy, shooting hoops, playing video games, and reading. In college next year, he hopes to start, once again, on his path to either majoring in business or in journalism; He has not yet decided.
