Jesuit Rolls into Playoffs with Shutout over Sunset

-

Jesuit amassed 271 yards rushing as they warmed up for the playoffs, winning against Sunset 59-0 at Jesuit. Jesuit averaged 13.55 yards a carry as seven different players scored touchdowns in Jesuit’s biggest blowout of the season. Junior QB Brian Buell ran for two touchdowns and Sophomore WR Jake Oliver caught two passes for 70 yards and a touchdown, putting himself over the 1000 yard mark for the season. Jesuit’s defense did their part, not letting the overmatched Sunset offense get any yards. They held the team to 109 yards and only seven first downs. Jesuit has ended the regular season 6-4 and 5-2 in their division. “This team is finally playing up to its potential,” says Senior LB Derek Wilder. “This is the kind of effort we want to carry into the playoffs.” Jesuit will be playing their first playoff game against Rowlett at SMU’s Ford Stadium. Rowlett is ranked 18th in the area and ended the regular season 8-2.
